This is what I'd be most worried about, that this loss causes Thibs to panic and bring back Deng (and to a lesser extent Gibson) too quickly. I'm pretty sure that Deng and Gibson were targeting Sunday as a return date, even before the game yesterday. Correct. Deng has been telling teammates that he's targeting Sunday, and Taj is walking without a limp now. It's not panic as much as it's just guys coming back. Both cases are pretty much pain management at this point.

Yeah, too much is being made of it. I was fine with it. The shot didn't fall. There's lot of other things to complain about in that game. I think I heard this morning that the Pacers had 50 points in the paint? That's awful. BTW, KC Johnson said on the radio this morning that both Deng and Gibson could end up playing in the Miami game.

Huh...I really thought I'd come in this thread and read more about how this game was lost on the boards. That's where it seems to me that the Bulls didn't play their game. They ended up only 3 rebounds down, but they were really not coming up with rebounds and loose balls the way they normally do.

The thing is though, they're not gonna have the surgery. Deng wants to play through it, and given that it's not his shooting hand, it's reasonable. From everything I'm able to find, they're just looking to manage the pain with it. Do you know for sure whether he'd be back for the playoffs if he had the surgery today? Because they might already know for sure that he wouldn't.

With Deng out, I'm perfectly fine with Rip getting some longer minutes. Especially this week. We don't play back to back until Sun-Mon, so there's plenty of rest time. And Rip has missed 7 games already on a team he's never played with before. Let the dude get accustomed to all the guys he might play with. Scalabrine has played pretty damn well in two games so far. Could he actually fill that Kurt Thomas role? Kinda? Sorta?

Rose says he'll play. Deng will probably sit. Taj will sit, Lucas will probably play, and Noah is a gametime decision.
