    So, worst case scenario is to interview him, we may have to wait out Green Bay's playoff run, right? If that IS the case, would we be willing to do that? i hope so. i don't see the urgency, really. Emery acknowledged they may have to wait to interview some because of the playoffs, but he said in an ideal world, he'd like to have a coach for the "all star games". The East-West game is on the 19th. The Senior bowl is the 26th. More info on the rules about interviewing assistants in the playoffs... So, we should be able to interview Clements on the 12-13th even if they win their game against the Vikes if I'm reading that correctly?

    Personally, I'm not super keen on college coaches coming to the NFL. I know some have worked out recently, but I can't get over that mindset.

    He talked about going over the middle of the field and giving Jay more targets. Said that in this league, the QB is going to face pressure, and you have to give him somewhere to throw the ball.

    I don't think they'll stand up Peppers in a 3-4. McClellin is ideal for that job.

    Did you miss the Hester drama? No - but does he really count? Jay was lukewarm at best, but that's just Jay probably. I'd be interested to hear from guys like Marshall, Forte, Bennett, and Garza. I heard a Garza quote, but I honestly don't remember exactly what was said. Not sure that Marshall would be all that interesting. Not a huge Lovie attachment.

    They love them some former Bears coaches there. Could be a possibility in Carolina if they ditch Rivera. That would sting for Ron.

    That's kind of crappy isn't it? You'd think the new coach would want to bring in his own guys. I think it's them playing the contract game a bit so if a coordinator tries to leave, they can "quit" rather than get "fired". So they can get out of as much salary as possible. But can't they try to leave now? And if they are released to do so now aren't those chances improved? Yep. They can, but they'd have to quit and the Bears wouldn't have to pay them the rest of the contract. If the Bears release them all, then the Bears are on the hook to pay out the rest of contracts. It's purely about trying to save some money for the Bears.
