  1. Long, until something is official there.
  2. I'm glad they found it necessary to let people know where Chase Daniel might be heading... Enquiring minds...
  3. Loadholt re-signs with Vikes.
  4. Rumor is Deangelo Hall to Detroit.
  5. last minute buzz from @movethesticks Jake Long-STL, Reggie Bush-DET, Chase Daniel-KC or NYJ, Goldson-TB, Cassell-Min or TB
  6. @seankjensen #Bears are interested in free-agent TE Martellus Bennett, according to a league source. He's one of the top FA TEs. bit.ly/X3UIQf
  7. @kcjhoop DRose talked at length with beat writers. Said he still hasn't had any setbacks but doesn't know if he'll play this season. More coming soon.
  8. And now Glazer just tweeted that there's no Urlacher news.
  9. I don't think the streak brought back some mad hockey fans that were otherwise pouting in a corner not watching, but I do think it go hockey coverage on some outlets that it wasn't before. Say what you will about ESPN, SI, etc, but the uber-casual sports fan is still watching those, and got more hockey coverage than they otherwise would. Lebron wasn't tweeting about other hockey teams, and that's certainly not a close-knit frequent hockey watching audience following him. I get why the wording ruffled feathers, but I also understand the perception that the Hawks did a lot to increase hockey awareness.
  10. @dabearsblog Jay Glazer just reported on Mike Francesa's show that he believe Brian Urlacher will leave Chicago this offseason.
  11. Yeah, it absolutely would be, but I just don't see why we'd spend our limited cap space on another old corner, when there's other areas of need.
  12. Greg Wyshynski doesn't like the SI cover: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/chicago-blackhawks-saved-hockey-according-idiotic-sports-illustrated-160205616--nhl.html Chris Peters argues the other way: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/eye-on-hockey/21861059/sports-illustrateds-chicago-blackhawks-cover-irks-hockey-fans

  17. Apparently that's the national cover, not regional.

  19. Nice breakdown of Bears salary cap hits. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/cap-hit/
  20. Carimi is fine (if not very good) as a run blocker, isn't he? We need [expletive] pass blocking. PFF has Loadholt as 4th in run blocking, 27th in pass blocking for OT's. For comparison, Webb is 43rd in pass blocking. Obviously LT and RT difference there. @seankjensen Source confirms to me what I reported earlier, that the #Bears interest in Jake Long is real. Again, the key is money. Where is Carimi? IIRC, he had a similarly (to Loadholt) dramatic "split" between run and pass. Not sure, going off tweets here. Don't have the PFF access.
  21. Two tackles would be a waste of resources; Webb would be a suitable RT but they need 2 interior linemen at least. Unless they think Webb/Carimi/Louis could handle guard duties? Two new tackles plus Jones at center. That's more what I was thinking. Carimi was decent at guard when he played there last season, wasn't he? And Louis was solid from what I remember. Sean Jensen tweeted a bit ago that he thinks that whatever shakes out, that Carimi will be competing for a guard spot.
