  1. I think the defensive struggles are overblown. I'm working on some stuff for my blog either this week or during the bye to show that. They aren't anywhere near good by any means, but people act as if the defense is going to stop this team from succeeding. Hell, the defense was great last year and they still failed when it mattered to get this team to the playoffs (Seattle, Minnesota). People, this is an offensive team now. This is what we all wanted for years to keep up with the rest of the league. Now we're fretting because the defense isn't dominating. Sure, but it's not like we've got a top 10 offense right now either. It's that awkward middle stage where both sides are, at best, mediocre. I'm hoping the offense improves quickly, because it appears that the defense is declining quickly.
  2. Anything can happen, but it'd definitely surprise me to see the Bears lose to anyone that is under .500. I don't think the Bears are an elite squad, but they're a good team, with flaws. That's a lot more than I can say for the Redskins.
  3. He looked very good Sunday, like somebody this defense could not hope to stop. Yeah ok, I made that comment at the wrong time. I didn't see how well he'd done on Sunday.
  4. Reminds me of every Redskins game of late. They are never anything special but a bad fit for Bears. RGIII could rack up a ton of fantasy points. But so should Jay. Yep. And I'm glad that RG3 isn't the mad runner he used to be. I'd be much more worried with this defense having to defend the read option.

  6. Timberwolves are interested in Marcus Teague. I smell Kevin Love trade!!! /SSRbait http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/14/report-timberwolves-interested-in-marquis-teague-also/
  7. I don't think they'll fool anyone as stars, but they seem more serviceable than that. I think that Jennings and Tillman help cover up for their issues.

  9. One of the arguments for him coming back last season was that he'd get these kind of "sore knee" things out of the way so he'd be healty all this season. Of course, the flip side to that is that the regular season doesn't mean much, and as long as he's healthy by the playoffs, missing a game here and there cuz of soreness won't be a big deal. Both Noah and Rose warmed up in uniform, even though neither played.
  10. Yep, it's a bitch thread. Should probably go in rants. It probably should've just been a discussion in the Bears threads. In fact, I'm locking it and we can move the conversation there if someone's still dying to whine about Shea.
  11. Tim Sassone (@TimSassone) tweeted at 11:40 PM on Fri, Oct 11, 2013: In a late night transaction, the #Blackhawks have recalled center Brandon Pirri from Rockford and sent down Jimmy Hayes.
  12. Oh but its just "technical". Here in baseball, close enough is good enough. barf Throw a challenge flag!!!
  13. Bickell--Toews--Kane Sharp--Handzus--Hossa Kruger--Shaw--Saad Bollig--Nordstrom--Smith
  14. The whole damn team missed tackles. They all forgot they had arms.
  15. Emery was brought in to end the dark age of Angelo drafting. There are only 2 players worth a damn left over from the 2012 draft in Jeffrey and Frey. My comment was implying that it should be simply be noted that he had an awful first draft during a time that we desperately needed good young talent. Who are you wanting to note this that isn't?
  16. Yeah, I'm not sure what you're wanting done here. Plenty of people are saying Shea was a bad pick. It's not like he's getting a pass. But it was his first draft, and he's done well in a lot of other areas. How has Sharrif Floyd been? Better at his position than Long is at his? I honestly don't know.
  17. It was his first draft pick, and it sucked, no doubt. But it looks like he might've hit a home run with the Kyle Long pick, another one that was....debated. Plus there's been some good non-first round picks as well. If we're holding Emery accountable for a bad pick, he's got to get credit for the good ones as well.
  18. Is that Rich King? I think it is. Almost looks like a latex mask version of him though.

  20. ROFL...nobody know what he said, but Gould took the blame, and both of them said nice things after.
  21. Awful. I know he got held a lot last night, but still. No way he's back next year.
  22. I disagree, I think he missed a lot of stuff. But it's definitely subjective. If I can get the PFF numbers on him, I'll post them. EDIT: Here we go http://i.imgur.com/gH2Rg3r.jpg
  23. Ugh. Bostic has potential, but he misses assignments a lot. He's a rook. Give him a chance. Personally I think Bostic will wind up being the better player. I don't mind seeing him out there. Heck, everyone's already blowing assignments all over the damn field on D anyway, or flat out getting blown UP in their assignments. At least Bostic can lay the wood. I didn't say I didn't think Bostic had potential, but he's missed enough that I don't feel comfortable with him being the starter there, like he's apparently going to be now. I'd just prefer that he get occasional reps until he's more comfortable with his assignments. In the long run, it'll be good for him. In the short run, it has a high probability of being bad for us. BTW, Brandon Merriweather could "lay the wood", but he's a crummy player. Laying the wood is easy. Playing your assignments isn't.
  24. I don't like Alex Brown as an analyst, but he had a point about McClellin this morning, that Rosie Colvin was telling Alex how bad Urlacher was when they first had him at the SAM backer spot, but then the move him a few feet to the middle, and he's a hall of famer. That sometimes it's not necessarily the player, but it's the coach using the player correctly. Not sure what else we can do with him without switching to a 3-4. Plus, the line is sooooo thin, it's not like we can bump him back to a LB spot. Maybe we could trade him for a DT?
