Why would i spend money on a team i hate and troll? why would you buy food you don't eat? why would you buy a car you don't drive? i mean [expletive] this is basic stuff here.. Wait. Did you think they were accusing you of trolling the Cubs? Thats usually what people mean when they call you a troll on a message board focused on a specific team. No. It's not. Ever. They mean you're trolling the fans of that team....specifically, those on that board. -

My only concern is losing 1.5 games to the Pirates and Giants over the last 3 days. I don't doubt the Cubs will play well but other than the sweep by the Cubs the Giants are handling their "impossibly tough schedule" quite well going 6-2 in the other games As fast as we got ahead in race we can get behind! http://i.imgur.com/FSGAdeL.gif

a kid in my class brought that in for show and tell and it was [expletive] epic [expletive] that kid. It will forever be my toy holy grail. Wasn't it something insane, like 5 feet long? I never got the lego monorail set that I wanted as a kid, and it's haunted me all these many years.

Is the TV signal fucked up for anyone else? Local simulcast channel shows commercials fine but the game is frozen and jacked.

It's hitting us in Bloomington right now, but really not bad for us at all. Typical thunderstorm. On the other hand, there's been a few tornado warnings to the north, and at least one on the ground in the Pontiac area.

I knew a few kids who had those, but only one who somehow had the only Turbo Grafix 16 I ever saw AND the only Atari Jaguar I ever saw. God knows whatever happened to that poor bastard. RIP C.C.

I wanted that thing so bad when I was a kid. Yup. I apparently was such a little [expletive] about wanting it for Christmas that my parents wrote a fake letter from Santa Claus explaining why it wouldn't fit in the house. 4-year-old me was so amazed that I got a letter signed by Santa that I totally bought it. I bought it so much that the next year they did the same damn thing when I wouldn't shut up about wanting this robot: http://www.theoldrobots.com/maxx.html It worked then, too, but by the following year when they tried the same thing when I was demanding the gigantic GI Joe aircraft carrier I knew what the score was. Still didn't get that damn aircraft carrier, though. I just visited my mom a couple months ago, and she had found a letter I'd written to my grandma as a kid, where I'd mentioned wanting some robot. I looked it up, and I don't recall ever having wanted it. I don't remember now which one it was....will have to ask her.

It's weird cuz there's some people that you can tell looking at a pic of their head that they're fat guys. Brad Biggs, for example....pretty apparent just from his face that he's a fat guy. But Spiegel doesn't really have "fat face" to me.

I've always wondered that too. And when your profession deals with talking about athletes who are, for the most part, actually in shape...its even more embarrassing that you let yourself get to that point. There's a whole lot of fat ugly people in radio. Just cuz you talk about sports doesn't mean you have to be in shape. And I don't think Dicaro is worthy of being lumped in with Spiegel here.

In this case, I'm thinking it's more that Utley doesn't wanna go anywhere. Wife and kids settled where they are...getting toward the end of his career. May just be happy to stay there. -

I'm semi-sensitive to it because one of my kids has been gluten-free for about 3 years. She had digestive problems (bad constipation) which lead to behavior problems (she always felt bad, so she was often moody and unpleasant). Eliminating gluten solved the physical problem, which greatly improved the behavior problem, and we went from something that was a constant source of stress to an afterthought. Sure, there are a bunch of douche-bags who have taken to it like every other fad diet, but Bernie Lincicome can eat a bag of dicks for his dismissive and condescending statement (particularly to open an article, which I'm sure only got worse) Ugh, I don't wanna defend Bernie, but you know that your daughter, and even you, was not who he was talking about, right? Read between the lines a little.
