So I'm listening to the Score this morning to try to get as much no-hitter talk as I can today. And I know, I know...talk radio is the worst....but in the last hour, they've had two Bears related segments and one Bulls(!) segment. The only Cubs discussion was a replay of a Len interview from earlier this morning. But Jesus, keep your eye on the ball here guys. Talk about the freaking no-hitter! /meatball radio rant

Because the Giants will catch the Dodgers before they catch us. For the Cubs to lose the WC spot, both the Dodgers and Giants would need to go on a tear while the Cubs lost a bunch. This while playing each other 7 more times.

I agree with your point, but Soriano is probably not gone for good. -
We're going on 9 out of the last 10 seasons being a miserable failure with unfulfilled expectations. However yes, the Cubs provide a great distraction. Yeah yeah, you're a giant bears fan that hates the bears...we get it. You don't need to convince anyone here that the Bears aren't good. I promise.

Ross went on emergency family medical leave for 3-7 days yesterday.

I think it means they're facing a LHP and still want to give Fowler another day to ensure he's 100%. It's also a day game after night game so a good opportunity to get Schwarber out of the lineup. Schwarber is in the lineup. He's catching.
