    Kris has been in a bit of a slump the last week or so. I think he was an easier sell when his OPS was pushing 1.000 and his BA .310, now he's "only" at .956 and .297 so here come articles pushing other candidates. I've also seen the idea being pushed that Rizzo and Bryant are going to split votes, but I really don't see Rizzo getting MVP votes over Bryant at this point.

    I really do think the Cy Young should be strictly for starters, and a separate relief pitcher award should be created.

    I'd vote our Cy Young candidate as my favorite player before the guy that played in 3 games. For a guy to win my favorite player of the year he kinda has to play. If he were to have some miracle playoff return (not gonna happen folks), then I reserve the right to revisit this.

    Was he even an option? Hard to have a guy be your favorite player in a season he hasn't played. He played 3 games. And it seems like people are often asking if there's any chance he can make a return in the playoffs. Well sure...but I don't know how you can have watched this team the whole season and then say Schwarber is your favorite player of 2016. Love the guy but come on...this team has been amazing without him.

    I think that's overstating it a bit. He has an uphill battle and something like a no-hitter (plus the fact it'll dip his ERA under 2) would have helped his case immensely With that home run he's probably back to being a severe underdog Yeah, I still think that's an overstatement. Hendricks has been getting quite a bit more attention over the last week or so. Plenty of people are seeing what he's doing right now, and his Cy stock has been rising.     I met some NSBB folks once, many many moons ago at a Peoria Chiefs game I think. And I really don't even remember who all was there. I don't think Fred was one, but I can't be sure.
