  1. Couple of lucky calls on that drive....but I'll take it! TD Bears!
  2. I disagree, but I guess we'll find out.
  3. Yeah it is...that was clearly uncatchable.
  4. The defense has 8 games worth of conditioning though...
  5. not the wind
  6. Damn...I couldn't tell if that was the wind or not.
  7. Attaboy defense! Get those turnovers!
  8. Can we get Nedny on the Bears please?
  9. Sure looked like Brown hit Pickett above the knees to me, and then grabbed him around the knees after that
  10. Right knee sprain Looked worse than that. I'd say that's good news.
  11. There was undoubtely a lot of luck there, but they set it up really well. A lot of blockers including Urlacher running with Vasher the whole way. And a great spin move at about the 30 yard line where Vasher nearly fell over, but it completely faked the 49ers the wrong way.
  12. That was absolutely amazing.
  13. Vasher caught the missed field goal at the back of the end zone and returned it 108 yards for the TD.
  14. And the worst of the 4 defensively would actually be the one playing SS. Why wouldn't Jeter move to CF in that scenario? Wouldn't that extend his career? It would also be a way to stick it to A Rod and make him look good at the same time. There's also the whole Jeter isn't as good defensively as Furcal aspect too. Um....excuuuuuuuuse me... Mr. Jeter has himself 2 Gold Gloves... :drunken:
  15. Pierre and Castillo for Patterson, Cedeno and Walker maybe? Would we need to throw more into that deal? NOTE: I'm bad at fantasy trades. Are you thinking that the Cubs would be able to sign Furcal? Yes...that would give you Furcal, Castillo and Pierre up the middle. Baker would have the speed and defense that he wants, though maybe too much speed. And in that scenario, Neifi might ACTUALLY BE a backup. I guess having Pierre and Furcal would present a leadoff quandry...

  18. Well I checked....FireJimHendry.com is taken.
  19. Sometimes??? Maybe with most managers... Translation: I wanted to play for Chicago because I knew Dusty was dumb enough to play me every day.
  20. Not sure how relevant this is, but Furcal and Perez share an agent. Maybe Hendry felt he had to overpay Perez so he could overpay Furcal?
  21. If that happens, it won't be because Neifi got some at bats from the bench. It'll just be one of many factors. If they let him start at SS or 2B, that would be pretty bad, and he'll probably get plenty of at bats either way with Dusty managing, but it seems odd how so many people like to pretend that Neifi is going to bring the team down single-handedly. Maybe his greatest value is as a scapegoat. Then again, I'm confident we'd all find someone else to blame if he left. It's not the signing itself, I think it's how indicative it is of an organizational philosophy that bothers so many people.
  22. Open competition next year I wholeheartedly agree with. Just not this year (barring injury).
  23. Much talk on Boers and Bernstein today, that Grossman is clearly the better quarterback than Orton, and that they believe that Grossman WILL be starting when he comes back. I think they're wrong on both accounts. Grossman might have been around for longer in the NFL, but he has the same number of starts, and a quarterback rating almost identical to Orton's. Even if Grossman is slightly better, which is something I'm not willing to say, I think you need to leave Orton in there as long as he's play even adequately, just to build his confidence. If you really want Orton to be the QB of the future that is. Of course B&B are belittling anyone that has a differing opinion, which is of surprise to no one.
  24. Brian Baldinger told me that Haslett has faced the Cover 2 many times an he knows how to beat it by going with a run when the defense is thinking pass and vice versa. Maybe not the same Brian, but it didn't tell me much. Because that's not how you beat every defense...oh no. Most defenses you want to run when they think you'll run, and pass when they think you'll pass. But against the vaunted Bears defense, he had to go and be tricky. Sly little guy. God Bless Brian Baldinger for clueing us in.
