  1. In Week 11 Jones had 25 carries for 87 yards for a 3.1 yard avg. Tiki had 13 carries for 41 yards for a 3.2 yard avg. The problem is that the Giants expect much more out of Tiki, and they gave up on the run too quickly. Those 13 carries were the only carries that NY had. That's terrible. If Jones gets the same number of carries this week that he did in week 11, he'll start to get some yards late, like he always does after the defense starts to wear down some. Edited for ease of reading.
  2. From John Clayton's preview: Has anyone ever seen ndistops and John Clayton in the same place at the same time???
  3. Does this mean we can smack Dusty on the nose with a newspaper when he does something wrong? No Neifi in the lineup, bad Dusty! Only if it's the right newspaper! That just leaves one to wonder what could possibly be the right one??? So many choices... :P
  4. And if Delhomme turns it over in in Panthers territory, then the Bears win handily...and Delhomme has already done that, so we know that's possible.
  5. In the last game Muhsin was the only weapon the Panthers KNEW the Bears had and they didn't shut him down, he just plain dropped balls. And even if they do, don't overlook Berrian.
  6. A lot of teams spotted the Bears points this year then.
  7. From the message board where these were posted: Editing the topic.
  8. Do you think the Bears defense has an ability to get turnovers closer to the opponent's end zone? I think getting turnovers deep in their territory is a coincidence in the way that if you force turnovers, some are bound to be like that. My point really was that the Bears force turnovers that give them a short field. Some are obviously going to be shorter than others, and yes...there certainly some luck/coincidence involved there with just how short a field that may be.
  9. I also think it's funny that the Panthers players and fans refer to the fact that they "spotted us 10 points", like the Bears D had nothing to do with it. I remember Bucs fans saying the same thing to us. Coincidence that we managed to get early turnovers deep in their territory in both games? I don't think so.
  10. I don't even really know what that means -- "different Panthers team". Anywho, I don't know that Delhomme will quite get the same pressure as last game (what, 8 sacks? now THAT was an impressive performance). I think Carolina will have more success in moving the ball than last time. The Bears D hasn't been looking quite as strong as they did back then. Maybe the week off helps, I don't know. Aside from Atlanta (and I'm not counting Minnesota), they gave up a boat load of yards down the stretch. I'll still go with 24-16. I keep reading that they have "new weapons", but Deshaun Foster was the leading rusher in the last game against us, so that's not really a change. I'm not sure where these new weapons are at.
  11. Some comments from John Foxafter today's practice. And some from Delhomme.
  12. An interesting comment in the foxsports.com/football outsiders Power Rankings:
  13. I think the Sun Times may be jumping the gun the Baker extension a smidge, though all the papers sseem to be reporting the Hendry extension is likely forthcoming.
  14. Welcome to the forum! :)
  15. Espn's HOF vote Phil Rogers voted for: Gossage Rice Sutter Morris Blyleven Dawson Trammel And cast the lone vote for Lee Smith That was the most votes cast by any one writer. Gossage was a unanimous choice.
  16. Ok, I missed the WC round, but here are my picks the rest of the way for fun... I need to look in the Fantasy Sports forum more...I completely missed out on this... :P I...uh...got all 4 right though...yeah...I'm winning....yeah...
  18. Wasn't Rosenthal they guy screaming that the Cubs were gonna trade Prior for Tejada? And that the Cubs were the "leaders" for his services? I don't believe much of what Rosenthal says at this point to be honest.
  19. I actually like some of the comments Ogunleye and Brown had. They were right! And it shows that they're confident going into the game. Hooray for trash talking!
  20. When I lived in Idaho, it became a regular pasttime to email webpages like that of coworkers that we knew. Yes my job was that bad.
  21. Hey Dav, thanks for remembering me  I watched the game and then came back to college from home. Didn't get a chance to talk about the game. Panthers looked real good today like they have their running game back in order. Delhomme looked pretty good, the defense was outstanding putting the clamps on one of the best offenses in the league (first home playoff shutout in 26 years). The problem is Rex Grossman isn't as spectacular when he is bad as Eli. The Bears game will be a dogfight, much better than round 1. The Panthers did look good, but they played against a Giants team that was really banged up on defense, and they ran right through them. I really don't see a big difference between the Panthers we beat in Week 11, and the Panthers now. If I recall, they were on a 6 game win streak when we beat them, so they had been playing pretty well. They haven't made any real changes personnel wise that I'm aware of, so it's essentially the same team. Meanwhile, the Bears have upgraded at QB, though it's not exactly John Elway we're putting out there. On top of that, we're playing in Chicago, and coming off a bye week which should allow our guys to be healthy. I really see this playing out pretty similarly to the last meeting. There are two big differences between the Week 11 Panthers and the current ones: 1. Useless Stephen Davis is out (completely this time), better DeShaun Foster is in. 2. John Fox is usually better the 2nd time around against a team. (With the one exception of this year's Tampa series.) And the QB difference tends to be magnified in the postseason. Jake Delhomme is 4-1 in the playoffs with a triple-digit QB rating, and don't forget only one of those 5 games was a home game. This game will NOT play out like it did last time, and if the Bears take that mindset or anything close, Carolina will win. Foster had the bulk of the carries in that game though...9 carries, 41 yards compared to Davis' 4 for 6. I'm not sure taking out Davis' 4 carries is really a huge impact. And I doubt the Bears have that mindset, but I do. Delhomme will get rattled by the pressure again, because frankly I don't think the Carolina O-Line can hold off the pass rush.
  22. That was bad....like....F'reel...
  23. Arguably Washington could be included in that discussion. They finished pretty strong, though they didn't look real sharp against the Bucs.
