  1. There's a thread on this "merger" in the social forums as well, and I mentioned there that a co-worker was concerned about Cardinals broadcasts because the local UPN station here is the Cardinals affiliate for the area...so this may not just affect Cubs games.
  2. I'm gonna have to say that I'm not too excited about the WBC either. I have a problem with it taking place prior to the season when guys are supposed to be preparing for the MLB season. You're going to have injuries, and guys that are going to wear down later in the year. Like Goony has said, I don't see any good coming from this.
  3. Don't micro-manage. The teams that I forget about (free public yahoo teams with no-one I know in them) tend to be the ones that finish the best. Granted, that's probably because everyone else forgot about them too, but leaving your roster set through a short slump often pays dividends.
  4. I just hope Angelo doesn't give up a draft pick...
  5. i don't know how the cap restrictions work, but i'd bet he could be had for a draft pick. and since philly is in a terrible negotiating spot, it probably wouldn't even have to be a high pick. Would TO play for his Philly contract, or would he make a big stink again if the Bears didn't re-negotiate?
  6. So you like him as a backup. I think there's not too many (though probably some) that would disagree there. How do you feel about him as a starter though? That's something that happened far too often last year and something that I would say a lot of us fear will happen again this year. I think fear of Neifi starting frequently is being confused for "Neifi-Hate".
  7. I won't go so far as to have 4 "woohoo" smileys, but I'm not exactly down on the idea. I think if it's handled right, it could be another Rodman type situation. A guy with a bad rep, but enormous talent that if kept under control can be a big piece to a championship. But I remain skeptical.
  8. Well that could be.......interesting. You haven't heard it yourself, so is this coming from another message board?
  9. Since the league went to 32 teams, the schedule works out very nicely. Here are the games the Bears will play every year: Home-and-home against division foes (6 games) Games against an NFC division (4 games, 2 home, 2 away) - 2006 is NFC West Games against an AFC division (4 games, 2 home, 2 away) - 2006 is AFC East Games against NFC teams that finished in the same place in their division as you (2 games, 1 home, 1 away) - 2006 is Tampa Bay, NY Giants This past year was NFC South, AFC North, San Francisco and Washington. I knew the other parts...forgot about that one...thanks.
  10. The idea would be to draft a couple CB's so you would have 2 or 3 starting CB's. But they'd have to be ready to start.... I don't see anyway to draft 2 CBs that are gonna be better than Tillman in the next year or two. I don't see enough justification to move Tillman to safety with Brown and Harris there. I think the justification would be the amount of time that Brown missed there the past few years. It's like Kerry Wood....if the guy is gonna go down for a significant chunk of time almost every year, you need to have a starting pitcher/starting safety there to fill in. I'm playing a little devil's advocate, as this was Mulligan's idea, not mine.

  12. I thought this was an interesting comment about Tillman possibly having potential as a safety from Mulligan in the Sun-Times: Yeah, that was Blache that made the comment, but Tillman would be nice to have as a backup safety if Brown goes down.
  13. Football is over.
  14. Not to make excuses for Maynard, because he certainly had a bad day, but the wind was swirling quite a bit from what I gathered...that could have had something to do with it. But that doesn't excuse the shank.
  15. Are we sure the broken hand didn't happen before the season started? That would explain a few things. I laughed. Who's in your sig, Raisin? You must watch 24...in fact...go rent the first season...right now...
  16. It was kinda vice versa. The defensive backs were leaving so many receivers open, that Delhomme was able to throw quickly, and thus avoiding any pressure that came his way.
  17. Wow. I guess that answers why they would be throwing to Berlin on that last drive instead of Moose. Would've been a tough game in Seattle without at least the threat of Moose out there.
  18. What's a Clement board? dude, your kinda like cubby cool-aid / disgruntled white sox fan... you guys won, but you must have some sort of resentment left. Chill, bro. I don't even know what this means...we won what?? I was asking a legitimate question. I don't know what he's referring to, so I was asking.
  19. I actually received an email stating the same thing...
  20. Were these guys watching the game I was Morrisey: But at least Morrisey put the blame on the defense where it belonged, Downey inexplicably blames it on Rex! Come on! The Bears season is over because Steve Smith ripped up our D.
  21. Game over....dammit.
  22. Guess not....phew.
  23. Was Rex hobbling????
