Bad moves from the past absolutely have contribution to the this season. To pretend otherwise is absolutely inaccurate. It's not piling on to show how past mistakes can have lasting effects. Can you please explain to me how the Estes and Alfonseca signings of several seasons ago contribute to this season? When you analyze a baseball players performance, don't you look at what he's done historically, and how that will trend out in the future? It's the same thing here. He's historically overspent, he overspent again this year, and he's probably going to do it again in the future. I agree with your statement. But that doesn't answer the question. The trend, not the individual signings affected this season.

I've given Hendry the benefit of the doubt through some bad signings because some of the good trades/signings he's made have been REAL good...(Nomar, Ramirez/Lofton, bye bye Hundley)...but I'm done with him.

the trade doesn't look good, but lets wait til one of these guys becomes a solid starter. going to take a lot to eclipse the dwillis trade btw. why wait? pierre is HORRIBLE. on what is there to wait? ????? Don't you have to give up something good for it to be the worse trade ever????????????? Then how about we just call it an incredibly bad trade, considering we gave up 3 possibilities, for 1 dud.

One thing I've noticed about Baker. He'll never preemptively have the bullpen warming up in these situations. He always waits until the first sign of trouble and usually doesn't pull the pitcher until it's too late. Baker is reactive rather than proactive. perhaps it's a show of confidence in z??? the guy's quite proven. no need to be pessimistic. You know Z is at 100 pitches. You know you have one of the best bullpens in the league. It is inexcusable to not have somebody warming up just in case. It's not pessimism. It's called being prepared. it's called ticking an all star pitcher off. It's called winning games. Hey...doubts about the management skills of the guy that has led us to 2 wins in the last 16 games are not allowed!
