It's one thing to be 9 under in September, but when you are 9 under in May, that shows you something. On May 24, 2002, the Cubs were 18-28, a .378 winning percentage, 9 games behind the Reds. A loss today and they'll be 18-28, isn't that a .391 winning percentage? I apparently completely made up that percentage, but ESPN's standings show 18-28 as a .367 percentage. But yeah, I get .391.
