  1. A living human being for Jose Macias Alfonseca. Bynum. That worthless Loogy they got from Arizona. The Farnsworth, Sosa, and Patterson trades. The myth that Hendry is King Midas with his trades doesn't really hold up. Cliff Bartosh for Bear Bay Juan Cruz for the human walking machine & Richard (no, I'm not the comedian) Lewis Jody Gerut
  2. Hendry's been an assistant GM. That was his title before GM. I doubt he'd accept a demotion back to that. And I'm not sure I'd want him there. I don't like the idea of Hendry "advising" anyone.
  3. *sigh*
  4. Kerry Wood can also hit a bit.
  5. Prior for Cabrera straight up...would you do it? Would the Marlins? EDIT: On second thought probably not, Prior would cost too much. They'd want kids.
  6. I think this thread has gone on for about 4 pages too long.
  7. So am I. I can't imagine the boo-birds tomorrow. Booing on an off-day? Now that's bad.
  8. Wood was throwing around 95-96 in his last start.
  9. We've said that since what...the San Diego series? The bottom seems to be non-existent.
  10. I'm going to be at Friday's game!
  11. Reverse that. Err...yes.
  12. My guess is that it would have something to do with injuries. Which would be my guess as well.
  13. I posted this in the game thread, but I thought it was significant enough to post here. If you've already read this, please feel free to ignore it. If we lose today (looks like a strong probability), we'll be 18-28. The exact same record as 2002 on the same date. Don Baylor was fired on July 5th, 2002. Quote from 2002: Baylor had 407 games as Cubs manager. Baker has had 532 games as Cubs manager. Why should Baker get more time than Baylor? I'd love to hear someone actually ask Hendry this, though I'm sure I know his answer.
  14. Is there a park in baseball that gives up more triples?
  15. How about OBP among all players that have started every game in the season?
  16. Baker was given a lot more talent, and lot more time to work with. Yep. Though I bet Hendry's answer would be that Baker had to deal with a lot more injuries to key personnel...
  17. One of them beat cancer? Baker survived prostate cancer. Baylor survived bone marrow cancer. So I guess they survived different cancers...but that's still pretty similar.
  18. I posted this at the end of yesterdays game thread, but here it is again. If we lose today, we'll be 18-28. The exact same record as 2002 on the same date. Don Baylor was fired on July 5th, 2002. Quote from 2002: What's the difference between Baker and Baylor?
  19. You should post this in Rivials. It will drive the Cardinal fans stark raving mad. K-town will probably pee himself while typing. With good reason, it's a friggin' ridiculous assertion. Of course it is, but the way I see it, it will keep them busy for a while and I will get a laugh at how serious they will take it. It's like cubbierich's ridiculous Pujols is a coward thread. Reading that is high commedy We discourage trolling on this board, and what you described is pretty much the definition of it.
  20. I posted this at the end of yesterdays game thread, but here it is again. If we lose today, we'll be 18-28. The exact same record as 2002 on the same date. Don Baylor was fired on July 5th, 2002.
  21. 1,2,3,5 and 6 are all equally horrible IMO.
