  1. Is there a link to it, or is it only in the printed version?
  2. Yeah...what happened? Turned it on when Williamson was warming up, and got about zero info from the announcers.
  3. I wanna see Ozzie Guillen and Gibbons go after each other... :P
  4. I'm not saying that you posted it or anything, but I really seem to recall a "Matt Murton is regressing" thread, or something similar. Might just need to the let the guy fight his way out of it, ya know? What's to lose this season? No reason to sit him at all IMO.
  5. The Cubs don't think so... And if he is, which of the 5 do you bump off the list?
  6. Beaten by a few minutes... http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=33906 viewtopic.php?t=33906
  7. Which makes me wonder if there's more to this suspension than we know.
  8. I'm not sure what was hostile in my post...I simply said the facts don't support your conclusion. Hope you find whatever you're looking for, because I'm not quite sure what that is.
  9. Since when? Good question JR. Maybe it happened in that parallel universe where Ozzie is a classy, open-minded genius. According to the figures I have, the Cubs have outsold the world champs by 35,849...in 4 less games. The Cubs average about 4 thousand more per game. stats My fault. I mean they will outsell them by season's end. But that's because of the playoffs, so it's not really fair to compare. My season ticket rep said the Sox have sold 2.6 million so far, and they're guaranteed to break 3 mil for the first time in the new park's history. Last year I thought I read the Cubs sold 2.7 mil. I don't know how you can come to that conclusion. The Cubs are averaging 4,000 more in attendance per game The Cubs have higher average attendance both at home and on the road. Last year the Cubs had 3.1 million. And so far this year the Cubs have 1.7 million, and the Sox have 1.6 million, not 2.6. There's no numbers on tickets sold for the remainder of the season, but there's really no evidence to support your conclusion.
  10. That killed me...they predicted against the Bears every freaking week.
  11. I really think the Bears are being a bit overlooked by the "experts" because of the offensive issues they had last year...this is from a chat with a Scouts, Inc. guy on ESPN.
  12. Says it was cancelled.
  13. Heh...a statistic stating how statisticians can't account for everything... No real point...just gave me a chuckle...
  14. This is just a really dumb NFC north preview. How do you have a preview like that, and essentially ignore the Bears? He mentions the Bears schedule and contract beefs, but says nothing of their strengths. Meh...I'm just ready for NFL season.
  15. He doesn't even say why Baker would be a good person to manage other than stability. Stable crap is still crap, Phil. There are so many other available managers he doesn't mention that it makes the article all but worthless... Larry Dierker Bob Brenly Bobby Valentine (if you can take him away from Japan) Those are just a few that weren't even mentioned in the article. I know more have been discussed here. Just a dumb article.
  16. The veracity of your "Moneyball, SABR, and all the adherents thereto," sure can be disputed though. You didn't say generally...you said all. And that's a mischaracterization. It's also a mischaracterization every time you say something "can't be disputed"...just because you believe it, doesn't make it indesputable.
  17. Those hippies and their crazy "rock" bands like CSNY.
  18. I Can't Dance.
  19. Moneyball, SABR, and all the adherents thereto. Hooray for generalizations.
  20. Actually, I think that goony disputed it quite well... And the "it takes one hit to score from first?" comments help clarify someone's position. Do they really mean that, is it hyperbole, or am I just mis-reading it?
  21. And I really think that's the only point that most people are making...don't give him away. If it seems like he's gotten a free pass, I imagine it's because despite his deficiencies, he's usually one of the more consistently good players on the team, if only because this team is just so bad. I don't think most people are opposed to trading Walker in a fair deal.
  22. Like most others in this thread, I really don't see the Cubs as having the slightest chance at Zito. On another note, "so he could sell his music" ? Never heard that as a negotiation point. :) It's so tough to sell your music in California...
  23. And he's acknowledging that. Despite what some want to say, this isn't the way things usually go with him and he's owning up to it. He had an extra crappy day on a team having a crappy day. Yeah, but I wonder if there'd be all this nsbb knob slobbing if, say, Neifi had done the same thing and then owned up to it. Like that 2 error play vs the Braves?
  24. I voted RHCP because Zepplin is gonna win anyway, and I like RHCP. Zepplin should win though.
