  1. The bodies were found on the street.
  2. He may like the challenge of the Cubs job, but I don't like the challenge of trying to watch him manage them.
  3. I'm going for the Mets, though I will feel dirty for it. I'm also going for the A's to win it all.
  4. We'll see. It's not like they're going to kill his market value by declaring he sucks and they want to dump him because his clutch factor is below 1.21 gigawatts or something. . 1.21 gigawatts?!?!? :willynilly: http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Ss/0088763/096896039736_z_backpcju.jpg
  5. Jason Stark said this morning on Mike & Mike that the Girardi interview went very well and "allayed any fears" the Cubs had about the Florida situation. However, he also said that the Cubs are very intrigued with Piniella, and that it's his job of choice. I think it's still Piniella in the lead. The paper this morning said that Piniella didn't get the grand tour that Girardi did. For what it's worth.
  6. Some fun Bears reading if you just can't get enough. :) http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/wordpress/?p=160
  7. It's hard for me to say I'd PREFER a loss, but I can certainly see the argument that it may be a benefit. That said I don't think we'll be 11-0 and I'll be saying to myself "We could really use a loss right about now."
  8. So if you're coach, and we're going into the Green Bay game with 15 wins...do you rest the starters?
  9. There is a lot of doubt that he'd want to go to the west coast, and be that much further from Miami. Chicago is about the same distance as NY. Maybe he would relish the opportunity to play daytime baseball in Chicago, which he might percieve as less pressure, but a much higher reward for his legacy if he should lead the Cubs to a World Series... To argue the other side of it, maybe he would want out of the pressure of a major market? Chicago is still pretty high profile.
  10. I don't think you rest starters with a shot at 16-0... One loss, sure... but if they're still undefeated, I can't see them throwing the second string out there. I'm not sure I agree. What's better? 16-0 or Super Bowl win? Both? :) I'm not saying that I think you should or shouldn't rest the starters. I just don't think they would. Personally, I might open a can of worms here, but I think 16-0 is more special than a Super Bowl. Teams can get lucky and win the SB. You don't get lucky and go 16-0. Plus, nobody has ever done 16-0. Does that mean I would enjoy 16-0 with a playoff loss more? Hell no, but IMHO, going 16-0 is a display of dominance and consistency that is unprecedented in NFL history and is a lot more impressive than simply winning the championship, something that is much more luck dependent and that is done every year. Again, just give me 19-0, and I'll be happy. To answer your question... what's better? Probably 16-0. What would I rather the Bears do? Win the SuperBowl. Heh...I actually deleted that post just after posting it, because after typing it out, I wasn't as sure about it..16-0 would be remembered more than a Super Bowl victory I'd think. And knowing this group, they'd want to get it. They really seem to strive for perfection.
  11. I heard that...what's he trying to do to us? :P At least Tony was incredulous about it. FYI, Michael Irvin is still a moron.
  12. He did sorta miss today...the refs just love the Bears so much. Did any announcers say anything on that. It looked liked it missed by a few feet. I think it hooked through, but there really was no way to tell from the angles available.
  13. Is this his last year under contract? They better extend him regardless of what it is. He has 2 years left on it (counting this year I think), but he's the lowest paid coach in the NFL. Better to get a deal done and pay him like he should be so he doesn't go anywhere.
  14. Anyone else think that the Bears might use the bye week to get Lovie's deal done? It's gotta be clear now that last year was no fluke. There really can't be any more questions about Lovie long term.
  15. Actually, this is covered earlier in this very thread! :)
  16. I meant more from a national interest perspective. NBC wants everyone to be interested, not just Bronco fans. But you're right of course. If the Bears were playing the Raiders, I'd sure be tuning in. :)
  17. This is going to be the first real clunker for NBC.
  18. LOL, if they really said this, they have no idea what they're in for. If teams keep saying this kind of stuff, I can't see how we'll ever have a let down game. This sounds made up to me. Not only is this team coming off a loss, but the poster didn't mention the name of the radio station, he just called it "AM news". I'll wait to see this somewhere else. No offense davhern...I know you're just quoting it.
  19. I really can't see that happening. Is a Monday Night Game on ESPN against Arizona more "shell-shocking" than a Sunday Night Game on NBC against the reigning NFC Champion Seahawks? Rex also played very well coming off the bench against the Falcons on national tv last year, and played very well in the playoffs last year. I think he'll be fine. I just really have trouble with being pessimistic about this team. And I know you were just looking for things to be pessimistic about, I just can't see it. He might throw interceptions, but I don't know that we could chalk it up to Monday night shell-shock. More just being overly aggressive.
  20. Per Jay Mariotti, Sports Illustrated was at the game this weekend, and it seems he expects a cover story.
  21. Ya know, with the Bears doing so well, I wonder if they'd try to do a superfans sketch again? It wouldn't be the same without Chris Farley though.
  22. Last game before the bye week. Bye weeks make me sad.
  23. They hadn't put up the articles on there yet last I checked :P
  24. That's excellent! :D Where'd you get those from by the way? I'm not finding many quotes online yet.
