  1. The Cards did their share, but the Bears still caused 2 fumbles and had a punt return. None of those were "gives" by Arizona. It wasn't like someone had butterfingers...those were legit takeaways and great "plays". The takeaways were skilled. The returns for TDs were a bit lucky. Not having to rely at all on the offense to come back from 20 down was also a bit lucky. :) I'm not discounting luck last night. There HAD to be a good amount of luck for things to fall the way they did. But it's not like that was the first time Hester has done that. We got him specifically for his ability to do what he did in the 4th quarter last night. We could be as lucky as we want, but you still have to have the skill to take advantage of those lucky breaks, and the Bears did that.
  2. Too early? I am suprised that we don't have a Cubs/Reds Opening Day game thread up yet. Too many of us still hate the Cubs right now.

  4. Also if anyone can post quotes and what not, since I (and probably others) are unable to stream audio/video at work.. Thanks! :)
  5. Choi Salary dump. Florida was going to non tender Lee after the Baltimore deal fell through. Hendry swooped in and made a decent deal, but Choi's value wasn't near Hill's at the moment. How about Francis Beltran, Justin Jones, and Brendan Harris? Yeah, Nomar was injured, but Jim still sold pretty high and got Nomar and Murton out of it.
  6. I want to see him on Cops.
  7. Brenly interviewed for the Cubs job. He hasn't interviewed yet for the SF job or any other job last I'd heard. Could be status quo.
  8. And I didn't even touch on pitching!!! :loco:
  9. I admittedly may be nuts here, but I think Hendry may be a bit more spend happy this season than any other. If the payroll increase rumors are true, and Hendry is trying to save his job, wouldn't he go all out for all the big names he can? I'm thinking an infield of A-ram, A-rod, Soriano and D-Lee would be fearsome. Then C Lee, Jacque/Murton, and whoever you have in CF. I'd even live with Pierre with that lineup. I'm not a guy to figure up all the salaries, and I'm sure that would be one spendy lineup, but I really think Jim is wanting to do something like this. I could be crazy though.
  10. Are you new here? :D This thread could easily grow to 15-20 pages before the game actually kicks off, no? I think we had around 8 pages on the Arizona game, and that was only one week.
  11. Even if it's true that they were plain vanilla in that preseason game and they were going to throw a whole bunch of stuff Leinert's way to confuse the hell out of him, there's no reason to talk about it before the game. NFL talent is so similar, that any team can step up and win with proper motivation (and coaching). I'm not a fan of Lovie's post-game comments that the Bears are a "team of destiny".
  12. Wow I completely missed that. What did he say? Lovie scoffed at the result of the preseason game, talked down Leinert, and gave the overall impression that he nor the Bears were concerned about Arizona. The way they came out just chucking it all over the place and with no heart on defense in the first quarter, it shows they were more interested in making a show on MNF than winning the game. The emotion Lovie showed during and after the comeback indicated to me a man who realize Brian Urlacher just covered his ass and he was dead wrong in how he prepared his team. I'd heard him blowing off the preseason game, but not so much the Leinart thing. In any case, Lovie and Turner both had this team poorly prepared for this game. And clearly the comments about preseason meaning nothing was used as motivation, since Denny was still going off about it during his little tirade. It's one thing for the players to believe the press. It's another for the coach to believe it.
  13. Exactly. The Bears better make the 49ers pay for last night.
  14. Wow I completely missed that. What did he say?

  16. Arizona's message board was down immediately following the game, and when I check this morning, there are about 10 pages of new threads about last night. Wow. I'm thrilled we won. I'm thrilled we have a bye week. And I hope like hell that we figure out how to not do this again. I'm scared of the 3 game road swing now.
  17. Holy cow. Hilarious. I'd feel bad for him if they weren't playing the Bears. I could never bring myself to feel sorry for Denny Green. He is the southern end of a northbound horse !! ARGH! I missed the meltdown while watching a long rambling Hester interview about the punt return! I gave you a heads up!! :P
  18. Holy cow. Hilarious. I'd feel bad for him if they weren't playing the Bears. I still feel bad for them. Their defense is nothing to be ashamed of though. Rex was bad because Az played very good defense. He didnt adjust. You know, despite the fact that they outplayed us, I STILL cant believe that they are referencing the preseason game, as if it actually meant something. I really don't believe that despite everything. They asked Urlacher about the preseason game, and he laughed and said he doesn't remember the preseason... :)
  19. Hester says the coaches are pushing him to get upfield, and not go side to side. He says he know it's not college anymore and he can't outrun everyone.
  20. Arizona message board is giving a "server too busy" message.
  21. Turn on ESPN. Dennis Green melted down and they said they're going to show it after the commercial.
