  1. Crap. Decent AB for Aramis, but nothing to show for it.
  2. There we go! Let's get Silva some runs before he takes the mound.
  3. OK, I guess I didn't miss anything but the audio sounds horrible online.
  4. Has the game started? MLB TV is on a loooooooooooong commercial break.
  5. Theriot 2B Fukudome RF Lee 1B Byrd CF Ramirez 3B Soriano LF Soto C Castro SS Silva P
  6. They were in the Knoxville area, which is about a four hour drive from Cincy. There should be a good chance of seeing him in tonight's lineup. Per Muskat, Castro is already at the ballpark working with Theriot & Trammell. He is starting tonight and batting 8th.
  7. Isn't that pretty common for highly-touted rookies when first called up? Take some pressure off before their home debut. Yes, but this is the Cubs we are talking about here.
  8. Anyone else think it was on purpose that he gets his first action as a Cub on the road?
  9. I believe Lou subscribes to the theory that when a guy gets called up, you play him immediately. But I would expect him to sit on the bench at some point in the first three games. Len & Bob just tweeted that Castro is expected to start tonight, so I guess you were right and I was wrong. I need to head to a bar to watch the game.
  10. I would guess that they wait until tomorrow to start him, but maybe he gets in the game at some point. Of course neither of the next two games are on WGN. :banghead:
  11. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I am excited to see him get a chance with the big boys. On the other hand I worry that the Cubs are going to ruin yet another "can't miss" prospect by bringing him up too early and not giving him a legitimate opportunity.
  12. I don't think so. Other fan bases hate us. It isn't like oh man they suck, lol crap either. Well, of course. Fans of teams like the Cradinals and White Sox and Brewers aren't going to be fond of the Cubs or their fans. I just think it's a stretch to effectively imply that the average baseball fan outside of rival fanbases hates the Cubs. You can add Reds fans to that list as well. They HATE us. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they hate the Reds. Any Reds haters here? Astros fans definitely hate the Cubs. I can guarantee that. After the way the Cubs fans took over their ballpark 3 years ago and will do so again in a few weeks, I don't think the Rangers fans care too much for us either.
  13. Maybe we should put Marlon on the 60-day DL so we make sure he's 100% for the playoffs.
  14. And the Alderman comes out of nowhere with a folding chair! Go Tunney. Out of character with the neighborhood? There's giant freaking advertisements every step you take in the neighborhood. And the only thing this sign would block is the rooftop billboard across the street. I bet the alderman is getting some kickbacks from the building owner.
  15. Why do we have to wait until the end of May?
  16. Have you seen photos of ballparks from the early 20th Century? Commercialism was rampant in MLB parks, save for one. yep, the one team that hasn't won anything in that time period If only Wrigley had put up ads in the 1920's we'd have 27 championships, too. Stupid owners.
  17. Well the sooner you get behind the longer you have to catch up.
  18. It is sad. It's also sad that I'd be happy with a manager at this point who knew how to put together a lineup based only on common sense and even a rudimentary understanding of stats. Would you need ANY stats to put together a more intelligent order? Sure. When I say rudimentary, I mean it. As in, "oh, I know what OBP is, so let me put Fukudome at the top when he starts and bat Soto 2nd." I get your point, but I think anyone paying attention to the game could figure that out without even looking at any numbers.
  19. Is this a serious post? In the last 7 days he is hitting .381 with an OPS of 1.173. He's 1 for his last 6, but I think you may be jumping the gun a little (assuming you are serious).
