    The Trib says Thomas is 38 and that it is a 2-year deal. The Daily Herald says he is 37 and that is is a 1-year deal. For the record, I hate this [expletive]. He was at TCU (playing for Billy Tubbs) when I was at Texas A&M and he was a total jerkoff when we played them in College Station.

    I was in HS at the time, but I remember one of the teachers coming out to baseball practice to let me know what happened. We were both huge Cubs fans and he had to share the news with me.

    Not exactly. We had the opportunity but Girardi was pretty open in saying that he was looking to rejoin the Yankees organization. As a GM, I'm not looking for a manager who has an eye on another job. All that said, Ricketts is going to be a terrible owner. This is why you don't let fans buy teams. They don't have an effing clue of how to run a sports team.
