Castro has been pretty poor as of late as well. I don't think Weaver is going to fear our last 5 hitters today. That's terrible. I'm glad he's on the bench. Ummmm may want to check the lineup again. Well he SHOULD be on the bench. (yes, that is sarcasm) -

Never did I argue that. He said A&M sucks at the Big 3 sports and that just isn't accurate. Everyone focuses on the disappointment that has been Texas A&M football recently and just falsely assumes that the whole athletic program is terrible.

You are [expletive] clueless. Our football program has been down, but it is on the way back up. A 9-win season wouldn't surprise me this year. We still have work to do to catch Texas and OU. WTF is "qualifying" in regards to baseball? A&M won the conference tournament and were 1 win away from a Super Regional match-up with #3 Florida. And if you think think we suck at basketball, you may be too stupid to breathe. We are one of only TWO teams to advance to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament the past 5 years. Pittsburgh is the other. We are not an elite program yet, but we are now a consistent Top 25 team. Did someone from A&M [expletive] your girlfriend or something?

They had an offer. In fact they were the only school with rumors to the SEC to have an offer. Apparently it is still there if we change our mind or this Fox TV deal for the Mack-10 falls through.

I've seen multiple sources say that we had an SEC offer if we wanted to take it.

That very well could be true. 9 votes are needed to dissolve the conference so teams could leave without paying a $10MM fine. With NU and the 6 schools going to the Pac-10, we would need one more school to get to 9. This would be a way to ensure that.

I can't believe what I am hearing, but all of a sudden there is a lot of chatter that A&M will in fact stay in the Big 12. I will be extremely pissed if this is true.

Doesn't matter. It's in the best interest of the state of Texas to keep Texas and aTm playing each other. Where does it say that we have to be in the same conference to play each other? It's not going to say it anywhere, but that's what they want. If the Texas government wants it bad enough, it'll happen. For someone in Michigan, you sure seem to know a lot about the Texas legislature.

Chip Brown really needs to stop using words like "committed." Don't blame Chip. The Texas AD tells him what to say.

If A&M goes to the SEC and texas, tceh, OU, and OSU go to the Pac-10, it appears that the next Pac-10 target will be Kansas to give them an even 16. Possibly Utah.

the conference is a mess right now because the populations of the states involved is much smaller than other high-profile conferences, and the population that is there is heavily weighted toward the south. it's a patchwork organization with one good academic school, several decent schools and a few bad ones. texas is far and away the best school in the conference in both athletics and academics, so why shouldn't they hold more of the power? You highly underestimate the athletics and academics of Texas A&M. I realize that they are the tops in each category at the moment, but we aren't far behind in either area.
