  1. What the [expletive] is that idiot thinking?
  2. Read on Twitter a short time ago that Carimi has been demoted. A friend in Chicago said that Rachal has left the team after also being benched. Yay Bears!
  3. I guess that can be interpreted different ways. The English language interprets that as "I am voting for Manziel." You know that and I know that, but I highly doubt that an idiot sportscaster meant that when he tweeted that statement. Maybe the writer won't consider casting a heisman vote for a guy that spent a night in jail in June. Is that the best you can come up with? Yawn.
  4. I didn't think you would cite a website that would lower your credibility after the teamranking.com faisco, but there you go Did you even read the first part of my post?
  5. I'm not a BR fan at all, but it's interesting to note this was written by a Notre Dame grad and fan. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1417858-why-manti-teos-heisman-candidacy-reveals-bias-in-heisman-voting

  7. The exact quote from his Twitter feed: I guess that can be interpreted different ways. As far as Klein goes, he was the front runner because his team was undefeated. He's scored a bunch of TD's, but the rest of his stats are average. Their best win of the year was at Oklahoma (which is a very good win) but he had 149 yards passing, 79 yards rushing and 1 TD. That's the only team they've played with a defense. Manziel is getting bashed for his poor performance against Florida where he threw for 173 yards, rushed for 60 and scored 1 TD.
  8. I can't think of a single player this year that everyone has to have on their ballot. Manziel isn't head and shoulders above any of several candidates this year. No one is. OK, but he specifically said he wouldn't even consider it. Give me a good reason why you won't even consider the player who many believe to be the current front runner. The team is 9-2 and in the BCS top 10, so it's not like he's on a mediocre team. His offensive stats compare favorably to any other QB in the nation. He beat the #1 team in the country in their stadium. You can make a legitimate argument why someone else is a better candidate. Maybe even that he isn't in the top 3. But to not even consider him is foolish and unexplainable.
  9. Comparing a defensive player to an offensive player is basically impossible. It's even difficult to compare defensive players to other defensive players. You do have other stats such as sacks, tackles, tackles for loss, etc. Te'o is a great player and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the Heisman. Obviously I think my guy does but I don't expect everyone to agree. What started this discussion was my disbelief that someone, especially someone paid to cover sports and who actually has a Heisman vote, would refuse to even consider putting Manziel in his top 3.
  10. That was just the first link that popped up when I Googled.
  11. And you're the one who included those stats...nevermind that it's shameful that you've abandoned your Texas State roots just because they're ranked 113th in the prestigous teamrankings.com poll. I'd be happy to remove those stats and still show how he's deserving of the Heisman if it makes you happy. I feel like you could use some happiness in your life. You seem like a miserable human being.
  12. You're the one that wanted to discount the supposed monster stat games he had against FCS schools.
  13. Te'o has 6 picks, which is fantastic. But the rest of his stats are pedestrian. And they've only played 1 top 10 team (40th toughest schedule in the country). http://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/strength-of-schedule-by-team
  14. He put up 252 total yards against SCSU and 367 yards against SHSU because he only played a half against each.
  15. The Florida game was the first game of his college career. In the LSU game, 2 of the 3 INT's were not on him. One when right through the hands of his WR and was tipped up for grabs. He also had a 40+ yard TD pass called back because of a stupid & unnecessary chop block. It was the right call but didn't help the receiver score at all. Our kicker missed two FG's and an extra point and we lost by 5 points. He also had 92 yards rushing in the Alabama game. I'm not disagreeing that it's a down year, but Manziel is putting up some crazy stats. He'll pass Cam Newton's yardage total from his Heisman season on Saturday while doing it in less games. He will also finish with better stats than Tebow did in his Heisman season. We've played the toughest schedule and have played 3 of the top 5 defenses in the country. He broke Archie Manning's single game yardage record and then broke his own record a few weeks later. We are 9-2 and favored by 22 points in our last game this Saturday. Did anyone here expect us to win more than 6 games?
  16. I know I'm a homer and think Manziel should be an easy Heisman winner, but to refuse to include him on your ballot at all is just asinine.
  17. I turned the game off when Campbell threw his first pick. I think the Bears were down 17-0 at that point. There was no reason to continue watching that abortion of a performance last night. It would have just pissed me off.
  18. I say we give Gary Scott another chance at 3B. He's gotta be ready by now.
  19. I'm not trying to put down A&M's 2012 team. Just saying, if Texas A&M can come into the SEC after years of being a solid but unspectacular Big 12 program and come within a few missed FGs against LSU of playing for the conference title in year 1, maybe the college football viewing public and media should cool their jets a bit about the SEC being head and shoulders above everybody else. A lot changed from 2011 to 2012 besides Johnny Manziel, including a brand new coaching staff with a dynamic offense that is much more suited to the college game than what Mike Sherman had been running. Give credit to Kevin Sumlin, Kliff Kingsbury, Mark Snyder, Terry Price, Larry Jackson, and the rest of the staff. They have done what NO ONE expected in year one.
  20. Can we stop with this foolish Collin Klein Heisman talk now?
  21. #1 team according to RPI? Sounds about right to me. http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html
  22. I thank aTm for what they did. People on these boards REALLY love Kansas State! I guess it's payback for 1998, eh? But Manziel better win the Heisman. The only thing Klein has on him is 10-0 vs 8-2. I like Manziel, but he threw three picks and was a big part of losing the LSU game. He shouldn't win the Heisman over Klein at this juncture. Two of the three picks weren't on him, though. And he still threw for about 275 yards. If the numbers were close, it'd be one thing but they're not. Barring any injuries over the next few weeks, Manziel will finish with better stats than Tebow or Cam had when they won the Heisman. Plus we've played a much tougher schedule so far. RG3 won it last year with 3 losses.
