  1. Texas A&M is liable to have a MAJOR fall next year. How do they make up that 5,000 yards or whatever JFF compiled this year? Also, their defense is a complete trainwreck. Either 4-star sophomore QB Kenny Hill or 5-star freshman QB Kyle Allen should be able to help replace a good chunk of the lost yardage with Manziel gone. I also imagine we will run the ball a lot more next year. I think we will have three 5-star RB's on the roster. The defense definitely needs to take a big step forward. I imagine we'll end up around 8-4 again next year.
  2. Yeah. He's not used to having plenty of cash to blow on anything he pleases.
  3. Comparing him to Favre in play style makes sense. He's a gambler. Comparing their arm strengths is a joke. He doesn't have nearly the same arm talent. He's not good at sidestepping pressure, and he takes off running even when there is no actual pressure. He's a guy who's a nightmare to block for because you can't trust he'll be where he's supposed to be. Tape bears this out. What works against college defenses won't necessarily work against NFL defenses. People compare him to Russell Wilson, but Wilson was far more advanced at NFL level quarterbacking skills like reading defenses, going through progressions, footwork, and pocket awareness than Manziel is. (he also has a much better arm) It sounds to me like you watched a lot more of his freshman year than you did his sophomore year. I do not believe his arm compares to Favre, who had a [expletive] cannon, but Johnny's arm strength is definitely underrated by a lot of people IMO. He has a long way to go but he improved a LOT since the end of last season when it comes to reading defenses, going through progressions, footwork, and pocket awareness. It showed this year on the field. Now some people on here who either don't remember the truth or don't care to remember the truth like to infer that I said last year that Manziel would be a #1 overall pick someday. What I actually said was that it was stupid at that time to say he would never have a chance at being a #1 pick. Many people immediately wrote him off a 2nd-3rd round pick at best. I think he's probably a mid 1st round value but at this point I'll be surprised if he lasts much past the top 5 just based on what teams are drafting there. It wouldn't even shock me to see the Texans take him #1 overall though I don't think it will happen nor do I think he deserves to go there. I will be very interested to follow his NFL career and see how he does. He may be a complete bust but he may be a HOF'er. All I know is that if he's healthy I would never bet against him.
  4. It's going to be interesting to see what the A&M offense looks like with a new QB running it. We will have a very talented sophomore QB in Kenny Hill returning. He ran a similar offense in HS but didn't get much PT this year because our D sucked so bad that we rarely got a big enough lead to get him in the game. Plus 5-star QB (some rank him as the #1 QB in the country) Kyle Allen from AZ starts class next week so he will have spring ball under his belt too. The defense HAS to get a lot better. I am confident that it will improve, but unsure as to how much. Really like Kyle Allen's game, I don't know about your other QBs but I think you'd be better off taking your lumps and starting him as a freshman. He may win the job especially with a chance to play spring ball but Kenny Hill was a 4-star QB out of a football factory in Southlake Carroll so he shouldn't be overlooked.
  5. I only care about hockey and that's mainly to watch the Hawks players play for their respective countries hoping that they all stay healthy.

  7. Helluva game. Was trying to talk myself into the Auburn moneyline all day yesterday up until kickoff. Glad I never pulled the trigger.
  8. Well that blows. That pick won't turn into anything at that rate.
  9. I really don't want to see Noah go. I hope that's not in the plans. With regards to the draft picks, I read it as the Bulls get the Sacramento pick for this draft without any restrictions. The lottery protection was on the Bulls swapping their first round pick with the Cavs first round pick in 2015. Am I misunderstanding that? It was late last night when I was looking at it so I could be way off.
  10. Will Bynum even play for us or do we just want the expiring contract and the pick?
  11. Wow. What a finish. I'm going to miss Johnny Football.

  13. Let's give his collarbone the old Discount Double Snap.
  14. My bad. I forgot that most rational thinking people would support a rapist over someone who broke some stupid NCAA rule.
  15. Hell, I pay for Center Ice but when the games are on WGN I can only get the visitors broadcast for some reason. That pisses me off.
  16. Rapers gotta stick up for theor own kind, yo.
  17. Jon Gruden!
  18. The Heisman Fratenity just got a bit more rapey. I guess it is time to change my profile pic.

  20. But Chip Brown said... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  21. A&M was a completely different team from the last year of the Big 12 to the first year of the SEC. Manziel & Sumlin would have rolled through the Big 12 last year. Look at what we did to OU in the Cotton Bowl.
  22. Here is the last 4 years. 2013 - 4 2012 - 5 2011 - 4 2010 - 3 And remember Sumlin's been around for only the last two. The argument may have gone a to a different place. I dont think the SEC is that great. Its the best conference because its best at the top. I agree that the depth is not there and I agree they dont play tough OOC (exceptions exist). But I was saying that its toughest to get into a BCS game from the SEC because no other conference has as many really good teams at the top. And people should stop using A&M and Mizzou's success as a counterpoint to SEC dominance. Those teams arent Big 12 anymore. They are SEC teams now, the SEC plucked two good programs from the Big 12 and made itself a stronger conference and made the Big 12 weaker. The success they are having in the SEC is not a boon for the big 12. Um, yeah, it really is. Those teams haven't had some crazy uptick in recruiting since moving to the SEC (not that it would have made a huge difference yet anyway) and have more than held their own in the SEC after being good, but not great, B12 teams. It's not like they were both running through the B12 undefeated every year and are suddenly scraping to 3 loss seasons now. They're doing about as well in the SEC as they did in the B12. I can't speak for Missouri but A&M's recruiting has been markedly better since the move to the SEC. Now that happened to coincide with the Sumlin hire (which also explains why we were more successful in our first year in the SEC than we were in the last year of the Big 12) but we are definitely recruiting on a different level now. When questioned about why they chose A&M almost every single recruit I've seen mentioned the opportunity to play in the SEC as one of the deciding factors.
  23. I don't like the FBS schools on the schedule so I'm not trying to defend that but one of the reasons our non-conference schedule was so bad the last two years was the switch to the SEC really messed up our scheduling and put us behind. By the time we had our conference schedule to work around most FBS teams already had a full schedule. Hopefully going forward we will make that part of the season more respectable. It's crazy that's the going price for him and he's only coached Mike Sherman recruits. (I know he's recruiting well, this is more an indictment on coaching salaries.) He is. Hope he can coach them up. Their D this year was brutal. Brutal indeed. Playing a lot of young guys in the front 7 is a recipe for disaster. It's not that they're not talented enough to play they just aren't big/strong enough yet. Our secondary was the biggest disappointment for me as we had plenty of experience back there but they were just godawful. Mark Snyder better show a big improvement next season. But the recruiting has been excellent so there should be plenty of talent to choose from over the next few seasons.
  24. About time the Cubs added another Aggie to the organization. :good:
  25. Finally some good news this offseason Congrats. Now you can finally tell us exactly what you did all weekend while dreaming of Johnny Manziel.
