  1. i bet if john lackey and jake arietta watched that clip they would be so disappointed/mad that it wasn't an actual fight. they're basically disrespecting the game, after all
  2. do we split up the lefties in the playoffs or just go lester/quintana/hendricks/jake
  3. yep. he's going to have a really, really good second half if he keeps scalding the ball as he has so far. the whole team is clicking and we're getting kyle back soon and they're going to go on an insane run
  4. oh my. that rizzo ab/hr http://i.cdn.turner.com/v5cache/TBS/Images/Dynamic/i23/seinfeld_episode065_337x233_040420061510.jpg edit: and now willson. yowzers, #wearegoodagain
  5. I'm amused at all the folks who talk about a Dodgers-Astros World Series as though the two best teams make the Series with any regularity. some idiot baseball writer being interviewed on the sports radio i was listening to (yes, yes, i know...i'm listening to sports radio so what should I expect) was saying it's the "closest thing for a cake walk" for a team making the WS he's seen in years. Oh, well maybe the cubs should start a fire sale then?
  6. what's lost in all these run scoring innings is that it's giving Quintana the appropriate time to rest to complete his perfect game. selfless...that's cub
  7. he has to have a runner on for that to happen. which, apparently, he doesn't want to do
  8. i don't know what the numbers say (but remember reading that he's above average by metrics) but willson seems to do a really awesome job at framing pitches
  9. yeah i read about it in the individualized thread about the move here on good old nsb well excuse me the cubs being good again is a good thing for everyone in my life because it makes me happier and then i joke around more. actually i'm kind of overly sarcastic and sometimes a dick with my humor so maybe it's a bad thing for other people and a good thing for me. either way it's awesome for me.
  10. yeah i read about it in the individualized thread about the move here on good old nsb
  11. great. just when things are looking so good and then willson gets hit directly in the dick
  12. i keep going back and forth on who is my favorite cub. i think it's 1a) Rizzo and 1b) Willson. but that's subject to change on a daily basis. oh yeah, and hendricks if he ever decides he wants to quit being a pansy and pitch again would be 1c probably.
  13. cubs still put up another double digit run game today. can we stay in baltimore for tomorrow, too?
  14. i'm interested to know what the exit velocity on that willson double is. that ball was crushed
  15. just watched a video of the bow-tied baller saying he didn't see the cubs in on gray bc it would require one of thier ML players (he mentioned Happ, specifically). that's not a hot taek from ken and i suppose it's probably true. would you all be ok with trading either happ or almora for gray if that was about the extent of the pieces? or would we require doolittle or someone else? also, who do you all value more - happ or almora? i keep going back and forth. i'd probably say happ but it's really close for me. i know it's been talked about a little lately but figured i'd throw it back out there for the hell of it.
  16. Thanks for noticing! I took a rare sunday morning shower
  17. baltimore getting a heavy dose of that cub D tonight
