  1. Maybe he just doesn't like baseball....or Canada. Or he's trying to lower the cost for the Cubs to acquire him. I think a change of scenery is all he needs. After we buy low on AJ we'll have to trade for Dunn so those two can sit around and bad-mouth Toronto.
  2. Why not go ahead and do the MRI today?
  3. How creative. 8 earned in 5 for our friend A.J. Well I guess that can only lower the trade value, right?
  4. wat? Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Nice job Lou. Keep him there when Soriano returns too. fixed Well, yeah. But it would take nothing short of an act of congress to get Sori out of the leadoff spot. I mean he's THE leadoff hitter. I mean look at his splits, etc.
  5. wat? Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Nice job Lou. Move him to the two hole when Soriano returns too.
  6. To be honest, I couldn't even see. Despite his Mercedes being a sedan, it's actually rather tall. The driver's side was on the opposite side of the car. I didn't see him favor his arm at all, but with this injury, he probably wouldn't even if it was bad. As for the MRI, all I heard was that he was having it today. I'd imagine that he would have taken it in the morning, but he may very well not have had it yet. Also, one critical piece of information: Zambrano left carrying something in a white bag that they use in the Wrigley Field stores. Could it have been Mike Fontenot stuffed in a bag? I mean he does the "hammer him into the ground" thing for good luck before starts. Maybe he's superstitious and wants him at the MRI?
  7. I sure hope your right, I'd be ecstatic with either scenario.
  8. OK then, take the other two out, you wouldn't do Hill and Gallagher for Burnett? Given this may be the last time the cubs are in this position for the foreseeable future? Can they get back to this spot right now (First in June)? Maybe. Would Burnett make them the odds on favorite to represent the NL in the world series? Probably. Gallagher's ceiling is probably a solid #3. Hill's ceiling is maybe a number 2, but who would have thought the cubs would have the best record in baseball without Hill? Where would they be with the Hill of 07, or better yet, someone better that 2007 Rich Hill? They are one shutdown pitcher from being an odds on favorite to get to the world series, probably odds on to win the whole thing.
  9. Nope, right middle finger http://ballhype.com/story/cubs_outfielder_soriano_out_3_5_days_with_broken/ ETA: I was thinking glove hand too. Maybe he was trying to trap the ball after catching it?
  10. Well I posted this in cubs discussion, but would you do this? Hill, Gallagher, E Pat, and Murton for Burnett (maybe a B/C prospect?) I don't see them turning that down, maybe I'm wrong though. As of tonight (with the uncertainty of the Zambrano injury) I would do it.
  11. After the night I've had....thanks! =D>
  12. I never really gave this much credence, but then again I never say never when it comes to the cubs. Thanks for clearing it up Bruce!
  13. I'd do this deal. The cubs would bite??? Is he serious? If Cleveland would accept that deal and Hendry didn't pull the trigger, he should be beaten to within an inch of his life. A textbook example of an unnecessary dependent clause. SORRY!!! Given the the context of the original post, it was Cleveland proposing a trade to the cubs. If Cleveland proposed that deal and hendry didn't pull the trigger. Better? Is it really that big of a mistake for you to bring it up and attempt to make me look like an ass? It's just a message board that's talking about baseball! No, I'm sorry. I wasn't taking a shot at you. It was an attempt at humor. If Cleveland would accept that deal and Hendry didn't pull the trigger, he should be beaten to within an inch of his life. The bolded part of this sentence cannot stand alone, grammatically speaking. It is a dependent clause. What I was saying is that it did not need to be there to modify the remainder of the sentence. The remainder of the sentence makes perfectly good sense to me even without the dependent clause. "He (Hendry) should be beaten to within an inch of his life." <------- I can support this regardless of whether Hendry accepts such a trade or not. ah, gotcha! That went right over my head. It's been way too long since I've discussed "dependent clauses". The public school system seems to have failed me again.

  18. 2 solid hit balls off Percival...
  19. great, the guy that I thought was kicked out earlier comes back to bite us in the ass. who would have called that?
  20. He looked so good last inning? :banghead:
