  1. Yeah, but that was in 61 games and 209 AB. The year before in 350 Ab he OPS'ed .817 in Oakland. Do you really believe he's high .900 OPS guy or a mid .800's? well, i'm dumb. for some reason i remembered him playing a full year.
  2. i can buy the concerns about his injury history, but acting like his bat is a product of texas' stadium rings a little stupid when he OPSd .947 in Oakland/Sand Diego the year before
  3. you dont think bradley is a better option than abreu or fukudome?
  4. wow what? they can't believe that we've teamed up together like a captain planet
  5. the mind of cubbiebum i hate Texas Tech now because Shonn Greene was way more deserving of 5th place than Crabtree. Yeah cause that is what I said. Most sports fans dislike rivals of their team/favorite players. I dislike Heupel because he finished second in a Heisman vote with a 20-14 td-int ratio just as most of us dislike certain Cardinals players. yes, the vaunted purdue-oklahoma rivalry Seriously IMB do you read or just see what you want and then post about it without fully knowing what the person posted? I said rivals of your team/favorite players. In college Heupel was a rival of Brees' because they were both highly considered for the Heisman. I can remember watching Oklahoma games in 2000 routing for them to lose so Heupel would fall out. Same goes for Florida State and Weinke. i was agreeing with you. i remember the heated arguments i had with my friends when we were playing pick up games. "I get to be heupel!" "I get to be brees!" "No I want to be brees!" "NO IM BREES!" you couldn't go anywhere without hearing the question pop up, "who do you like better, brees or heupel?" it's a question that very nearly tore this nation asunder
  6. seriously? which guy was it? it was in a graphic...just one of the hosts. i couldnt believe what i was hearing
  7. uhhh did ESPN just use FIP to prove how dominant wood was last year?
  8. "lil weezy? what you know bout lil weezy"

  11. i can't figure out your heupel connection think of the year, who finished behind him and what team I like Heupel didn't win a heisman
  12. i can't figure out your heupel connection
  13. wrong again. you can't even get info that's not yours correct anymore
  14. i'm trying to think of what tim tebow would have to do to be more annoying i guess he could start wearing affliction shirts
  15. i really dislike kevin garnett and paul pierce, but if you want to take a raw, young player and get the most out of him, putting him in a starting 5 with kg, pierce and ray allen is probably about as good a way to do it as any
  16. i havent followed michigan that much this year, but why and where is he going? he seems like a good back for a spread offense
  17. Have I missed something? How is Rajon Rondo at all part of an epic PG matchup (or is this just because CP3 is that good)? rajon rondo is pretty damn good. he's not going to score more than 10 points per game with ray, paul pierce and garnett on the team, but he shoots over 50% from the floor, he averages over 3 assists/to and more importantly to his matchup with cp3, he defends really hard. i watched as much of that game last night from my desk as I could and they were really going after each other, it was fun to watch.
  18. what's another 10 innings on marmol's arm
  19. Reading 100 words into the article instead on simply looking at the pictures sure is hard. I freaking hate comments like this. I hear enough smart-howry's at work, I really hate coming home to read this crap on a cubs forum. Cant you people quit being such righteous fiends? righteous fiends would have been a good punk band in the 80s
  20. im usually not one to get upset as trade/free agent negotiations drag on, because we actually get so little real information about what goes on behind the scenes. but this was sort of frustrating because it's been the better part of two months, and look at what we've gotten. "the deal could center around pie, vitters or sean marshall" "make that all three of them" "hey jim, we need more than that, get a third team involved." "hmm, youll have to move marquis? i guess you need to find a fourth team" "oh, yeah, go ahead of put derosa in the deal, too" if you're hendry, how long do you let that go on? better part of two months and you're further away than you were at the beginning and the deal just keeps getting more and more complicated. In a month it would be a 6-team deal with half our roster getting turned over. Not to mention he's still working on getting rid of marquis and signing bradley...how much more time can he waste on an idiot gm who keeps sabotaging a trade he has to make?
  21. did they institute a "no full-backs in the 4th quarter" rule in the CFL this year or something?
  22. next week they're showing "nissan nfl future week", and there's going to be a bunch of videos of tebow sitting on the bench
  23. Fair enough. That's why this message board exists. To share your opinions and argue with people who don't agree with them. i don't think it's overdramatizing to not let trade terms be dictated to you by a guy with his back to the wall we'd have to say bye to pie, vitters, marquis, derosa and marshall + assorted filler to facilitate this trade. i'm not saying that peavy isn't worth it, i'm saying we should be able to get him for less. obviously im not privy to what all went down, but it seemed like the further along the trade talks went, the more elaborate the demands got. i would have told towers to f himself, too.
  24. i'm not going to sweat not getting this deal done right now sure, maybe derosa shouldn't be the deal breaker and neither should sean marshall, but there's a cumulative effect. If the other guy is demanding a 6-for-1 or whatever, that's an instance where sean marshall is the straw that breaks the camel's back, so to speak. You want sean marshall and derosa? fine, but you can't have them and five more freaking players. this isn't madden.
  25. i think it's pretty clear that right or wrong, meph always loses
