  1. i love the astros and rangers guys. i dont know their names and couldn't tell them apart, but I watch their games on FSN all the time, and they all seem relaxed and funny. I don't go out of my way to listen to vin scully games, but I like listening to him when I do. It feels like watching a current day game being played with a announcer soundtrack from the 30s.
  2. Soriano was an obvious mistake, but as Meph and TT have illustrated, Z's hitting capabilties are enough to make him equitable with guys like Carpenter, Oswalt, et al. most years. Not saying $90 mil wasn't too much, but he's a unique and elite talent. Soriano isn't. Where the hell is Meph posting now? He's still posting where I first met him - the IGN baseball board. lol. it combines baseball, nerds and final fantasy, his 3 true loves
  3. yes, 2 months of starlin castro, who is probably worth 1 win over ryan theriot in that span (maybe not even that, since theriot won us a game with that 2-out single of whatever the other day) is certainly worth calling him up early. Shut up.
  4. the "it's only 4 hits" part is the best post of the thread magdal, never stop posting, you're hilarious. (but you're a dumb racist, too)
  5. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i cant figure this out. the lakers have two 7-footers in their starting lineup. I honestly think that if they came down the court and just gave the ball to gasol and bynum and cleared out, they would have won the series by now. of course they tried that in the first quarter and fell behind by 20. honestly they just looked old and slow and unwilling to fight back tonight, it was bizarre. I can understand the old and slow thing, but they didn't appear to even care. Maybe they know they're going to go back to LA and win, so why bother expending all the energy it would take to get back in this one?
  6. ravens are taking mt. cody i feel like they're having a really good draft
  7. good pick by SF
  8. the ultimate irony will be when clausen flops and decimates the panthers for a few years
  9. broncos at 45, clausen still available... think anyone in that org regrets paying tebow all that first round money now? i think this move is going to cost mcdaniels his job in a year or two.
  10. yeah, baltimore raviderns
  11. i didnt see one football know it all mock this year, im almost lost here without it
  12. lol i hope clausen and mccoy fall to the third round. hilarious.
  13. man it's a good thing jimmy clausen played in that pro-style offense, or he might fall to the fifth round
  14. i heard that they are, but this time it's white shirts you won't get to see sugar hill at halftime like i did though, holler
  15. he went off his right foot, took off a step early basically. it surprised us, too, because it happened way too fast. It took TNT by surprise too as they were showing some replay and only turned back to the game as Russ was screaming and pounding his chest. yeah, i was wrong, too. he jumped off his left foot, but something about it looked unnatural. here's a good blow by blow description of it http://www.hardwoodparoxysm.com/2010/04/23/nba-playoffs-thunder-lakers-game-3-heres-how-russell-westbrook-killed-a-man/
  16. the smash on odom that ignited the 8-0 run at the end of the third quarter if you have nbatv, they're playing a condensed version at noon. there are sports torrents sites that have the game up, too.
  17. most talked about white bronco since oj and ac (i cant take credit for that, heard it on twitter)
  18. we got there early and i was afraid the crowd was going to burn out early. we have this reputation as a crazy arena or whatever, but i've never really seen it until tonight. Then LA gets up 10-0 to start and 15-3 and I thought the crowd would die off. Obviously they didn't. I don't know if it made a difference or not but holy [expletive] was that fun to be at. When you grow up in a state with nothing professional (and all the college teams that matter 180 miles away,) you don't get to experience nights like this. I think a lot of people take it for granted. Was cool to be there as it happened here for the first time.
  19. he went off his right foot, took off a step early basically. it surprised us, too, because it happened way too fast.
  20. i really wish we had someone like varejo in the middle, as much as i hate him. Honestly, somehow we're still competent defensively, but we need a scoring option to take the load off durant. westbrook gets to be that guy this series because the lakers point guards are miserable. That was an amazing game tonight, I'm so glad I ponied up the dough to go. the best part was the idiot lakers fan in front of me gloating to the entire section after the 10-0 start only to walk out in shame.
  21. So you wish to base the decision on 4 starts rather than 7 years of data suggesting he's the worst option to be moved to the pen. I know you went on to talk about how the move is temporary, but honestly any decision to move your most talented starter to the pen is a bad discussion. But allowing Harris anywhere NEAR the lineup, regardless of spot, imo is a far worse move. In fact, I can count at least 10 moves the Cubs have made (and this is sad that I can do it) that are worse then Z going to the pen. do it 10 moves
  22. i instantly regret making that post because i dont think i explained myself well and it will get torn to shreds. if we had a coach that wasn't drunk/senile, i would trust him to platoon soto and hill correctly. Lou is obviously not that guy. anyway, im glad soto is hitting and i hope this keeps up and we have the guy we thought we had in 08 and not rick wilkins
  23. i don't have a huge problem with the soto/hill platoon. I mean obviously Lou doesn't use it optimally and Hill really does suck, but putting him in during defensive situations isn't a big deal unless Lou over uses it (which he has so maybe i should shut up) You have to have a back up and you have to rest your starting catcher so if him and hill are equals defensively (my opinion,) you've gotta rest soto sometime, might as well be when his bat isn't needed.
  24. They need to put hawks call at the end of buerhreehrle's perfect game in a time capsule for a later reminder of what not to do in the booth. YES YEEEEEEEESSSSSS YEESSSSSS!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
