I'm a bit confused, then. You could take pretty much any SS with a bit of pop and compare them with DeRosa, then. In addition to playing 2B, 3B, LF & Rf, Lake would also be able to play a credible SS and should be able to cover CF based on his speed. Yeah, but how many actually do that? And how many of those types have we had on the cubs, recently? This is such a weird thing for me to nitpick, but I'm just saying that I took the comment as him looking into the future and seeing Lake's role on the team being a guy that fills in at different positions. I'm sure you could stick castro in LF and he wouldn't soriano himself, but the cubs don't do that. It might just be that it ends up being Lake's role, though.

I just can't believe sandusky was able to get away with this for so long. I can maybe buy that one assistant over the course of 15 years, or whatever, stumbled onto this and then was convinced to keep it quiet. BUT FIFTEEN YEARS? How no one blew the whistle on this guy is amazing. He must be pretty Keen to get away with it for that long.

and lake can only dream of having a beard like derosa. i think the comparison was more based on utility than hitter profile.

This is the same season where players swapping gear for tattoos cost a high-profile coach his job. How far could this assistant have possibly edited his story before telling Paterno? I'm sorry, but if you think even for a second that your inaction may be allowing someone to RAPE CHILDREN IN YOUR LOCKERROOM, you're required by basic human decency to go beyond what youre legally obligated to do. This is a pretty drastic failure by a lot of people. Paterno happens to be the only one with a face.

I havent spent a lot of time in my life thinking about pedophiles and child rape or whatever so i dont know what i was expecting, but i was really not prepared for graphic descriptions of an old man banging a 10 year old in a lockerroom shower.
