  1. Because goony said something obviously wrong and I used him as a counter example. http://i.imgur.com/m7L6Irj.jpg
  2. isnt he in his arb years still? why the [expletive] is he even being mentioned in this conversation
  3. You signing him after its found out that he had his arm amputated?? Arm amputee surgery is the new Tommy John. you need to have the kid's arm cut off in high school so its out of the way by the time he's a pro
  4. Soriano's horrific H2 is up for sale. Just $31,000 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321068076584
  5. lol, no. no one was advocating just throwing 175 million at him without making sure everything was sound you dope.
  6. MIggy Miggys in terrible shape, I'd be shocked if it was him. he cycled off incorrectly
  7. by the end of the contract, he'll be throwing 86 mph and striking out 14/9. stats are great
  8. How many of these guys were 26 year old studs with a long history of stud-ism? What a useless list. Fine. Let's take a look at a different list. Here is the list of pitchers sorted by fWAR generated through age 26: 1 Felix Hernandez 2 CC Sabathia 3 Pedro Martinez 4 Zack Greinke 5 Kevin Appier 6 Mark Buehrle 7 Javier Vazquez 8 Matt Cain 9 Johan Santana 10 Tim Lincecum 11 Clayton Kershaw 12 Alex Fernandez 13 Carlos Zambrano 14 Roy Halladay 15 Steve Avery 16 Jake Peavy 17 Ben Sheets 18 Roy Oswalt 19 Mark Mulder 20 Brad Radke 21 Greg Maddux 22 Jon Lester 23 Barry Zito 24 Justin Verlander 25 Mike Mussina kevin appier was coming off an injury at age 26 when alex fernandez was 26, he had struck out 7 batters/9 innings only twice ben sheets was coming off an injury mark mulder had just posted a 4.43 era BRAD RADKE LMAO. When he was 26 he'd posted more seasons of 4+ eras than not. Because BRAD RADKE wasn't worth 175 mil has no bearing on felix hernandez. barry zito had just posted a 4.40 era John lester had only pitched three full seasons with results nowhere near felix hernandez after steve avery's age 26 season, he'd posted 3-straight 4+ era seasons im tired of going through these. You're taking albert pujols and saying he's not worth the contract based on the results of a bunch of ike davises
  9. How many of these guys were 26 year old studs with a long history of stud-ism? What a useless list.
  10. ok talk to you later bye
  11. particular concerns about hernandez, or just the usual pitchers always get hurt stuff
  12. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/02/07/in-case-you-didnt-believe-that-john-lackey-was-in-the-best-shape-of-his-life/ ooks like lackey went to the kerry wood camp of meth addiction
  13. schilling is so full of [expletive]. he's such a fame hog, if that really happened, he would have mentioned it already. "OH YEAH I JUST HAPPENED TO REMEMBER THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME WHILE WE'RE IN THE MIDST OF ANOTHER STEROID SCARE." [expletive] you, idiot. i wish i didnt root for them in 04.
  14. maybe thibs just wants to flex and see if he can plug Bargnani into ***the system*** and still make the defense work
  15. if Felix was a FA right now, you wouldn't give him 7/175? I can understand the Mariners not doing it because of their market limitations, but i couldn't put my name on that check fast enough.
  16. how could you throw a curve with that thing?!?!?!!
  17. wow, you're right. i'd never noticed that.
  18. seems weird to start throwing $$$$$ accusations at ole miss considering we know there's underhanded [expletive] being done at every school. not to mention all these weirdo 18 year olds know each other and all it takes is one charismatic alpha dog to bring in all his buddies. maybe i just care less about this stuff than i used to
  19. Law really came in with a strange mix of pro cubs sentiment with his usual shots at sczur and volgebach
  20. YES
  21. So according to this, the woman filed a police report saying he abused her. He hasn't been arrested or charged?
  22. Whenever I think about Vizcaino, I hear Harry saying his name for some reason. One of those early 90's cubs that I will always remember due to being 10-12 years old and collecting baseball cards and having 95% of my knowledge of baseball come from watching Cubs games even though he wasnt that good. It took me awhile to realize that he was the same Vizcaino as the one playing on the Cardinals/Astros in the mid-aughts. Other players in a similar place in my head include Steve Buchelle, Chuck McElroy, Rick Wilkins and Hector Villenueva (catchers are always the coolest position when you're a kid). Rick Wrona
  23. I like Ed Davis, but dunno where he fits on the Grizz. And Daye and Prince are awful.
  24. theo is going to sweat bourn out and get him for a really good deal, isnt he
