  2. Vitters is like a good personal barometer for me. It seems like he hasn't been around forever-ever, yet I was like 9 lifetimes ago the day he was drafted.
  3. Matsuzaka was flukey as hell that second year. It's likely the injury was already taking it's toll and it just didn't show up in his ERA yet.
  4. I'm sorry but that thread is killing me Also let's not forget Tim used Clayton Kershaw, still on his rookie contract, as an example of how you can acquire great players without paying them lots of money in an extension.
  5. On second glance, it appears it was just tim [expletive] his pants lmao. I say give Tanaka the money, but man, Felix's deal was pretty SEISMIC (/david) when it happened, and it's like one offseason later and more than that is being attached to a guy some scouts are like "yeah he's a good mid-rotation guy." Eh, they kinda have to do it at this point, unfortunately. Oh, I'm not arguing that we dont have to Buffalo Bills it to get these guys to come here. It's what we should have done with Sanchez last offseason. You cant be a 60-win team and offer a guy the same contract as a world series contender and hope for it to work out.
  6. Lol, that thread reminded me that Tim started begging for apologies after Hernandez reported an elbow issue early in the preseason. All he did after that was post his second-lowest WHIP of his career and his highest k/9 of his career, lowest walk rate, etc.

  8. I'm surprised everyone is brushing off 7/182 like "what else are we gonna do with it" when King Felix got LESS, and a lot of different people here [expletive] their pants at the notion of giving that amount of money to a dreaded pitcher
  9. mojo's kris bryant douche theory is looking credible
  10. That is mind boggling "less than 20 what?"
  11. that is pretty awesome
  12. i hope he adds 15 pounds best shape of his life too
  13. I don't know that I'd go that far, but it would be a much more competitive team than we've been seeing with lots of fun things going on in the background. Picking up Tanaka and keeping Shark could turn us into buyers at the deadline, and we have lots of [expletive] to play with. I can envision a playoff race scenario.
  14. I keep coming back to Jay Bruce as a comp for Kris Bryant, bat-wise. The numbers don't line up exactly, but Bruce was out of HS. He struck out a lot, walked a little below average, but put up .300 batting averages in the minors because he was just too talented. In the majors though, he's a .260 guy
  15. I can't speak for others, but usually when I know something I can't get into specifics on, I don't say anything at all. In this case, I think within the context of a 1200 word article, what I wrote in that line was both appropriate and useful. i was talking about abty more than you. I think he wanted to be all reporter-y and break a story and then got cold feet. my twitter rep would be ruined id get no more RTs

  17. I assume Butler went 60:19 and minute totals of 60 or more just break yahoo? DeRozan went for 60 even in '12 according to basketball-reference. If their numbers can be believed, this would be the most since Jalen Rose went for 61 in '01 whose coaching these motherfuckers, kerry wood's dad?
  18. Uhh, Paxton, Pinto and ... Hicks, I guess.
  19. Soler still gets a legacy grade from me. If he doesn't light it up the first two months, while we continue to get excellence from Edwards, I'll change my mind.
  20. they look like they're 15, man getting old sucks
  21. lmao I would LOVE it if they sprang No. 1 on us out of nowhere. now i hope that's it.
  22. lets see jeez, it's not a player acquisition as already stated no type of managerial move that could be made would be "seismic" or w/e adjective was used no front office move would fit the bill that leaves two things renovations (hardly "seismic") or giant tv deal that was already talked about yesterday HMM WHERE THERES SMOKE THERE'S FIRE that's my guess, what the [expletive] else could it be.
  23. great moments in nsbb history vol. 3
  24. go [expletive] yourself, idiot
