    Before today, Castro was at -0.3 WAR. Very good chance he ends up in positive territory by the end of the season. Yay!

    Maddon must have been out drinking with Bryant last night :) This game is going to take 5 hours to play with all of the pitching changes. Though the impending rain might send it to it's merciful death earlier.

    He's probably still smarting from the foul ball, enough to make the platoon decision more logical in Joe's head. Why that doesn't apply to Bryant and Baez vis a vis La Stella is a new question. Remember when Maddon PH'd Bryant against the Nats in like the 4th inning and we scored a bunch of runs? That was better than what just happened.

    Too bad Haren or Addison couldn't have hit a double in the first. [expletive] it. Their bullpen is great. This is going to be one of those games.

    Haren is garbage, but without that error, who knows what happens. Rizzo needs to make that play. Cubs have been making some costly errors lately (Rizzo vs. PHI, Arrieta vs. PIT, Rizzo today). That [expletive] can't happen in the playoffs.

    Nice, yes, but even letting them off the hook a little still frightens me. 6 would have been great.

    If one of the Cubs players gets hurt because of this, someone should seriously murder Tom Ricketts in cold blood. A concert 3 days before a game? [expletive] off, you money hungry douches. Now, if it somehow injures every Cardinal, disregard everything said.

    I know early in the season Lilly mostly just walked around the bleacher construction without a hard hat on. Not sure where where he's been lately. Didn't he have some huge tax evasion charge? He might be in white collar resort prison by now.

    It certainly ended up making sense. Wood was great today.

    They have it for two reasons: 1) They have to have a press conference at the start of camp and any press conference is going to be centered on Kane. 2) Having it with Kane and the 3 leaders of the organization suggests strong support for him. Take into account the absolute nothing to gain everything to lose situation with answering questions and it was inevitable that they'd say next to nothing about Kane/Rape questions. Fair. But why even have Kane take questions when you know he's not going to say anything. "I appreciate your question" "Because of the legal process...". What a joke. I mean, if it even tangentially touched on the incident (distraction, scheduling, going forward, etc...) he didn't say anything. It was a joke. Should have never allowed Q&A.

    This entire press conference has been pointless and awful. What a disaster. Why even have it if you're not talking about anything? I get not discussing details, but literally not talking about it at all. Strange. I expect more from the team at this point.

    Maddon's roster management today has been odd. No PH for Richard OR Wood? Is Wood going to close the game out? Richard had like 2 batters after batting with runners on base.

    We have a 13 man bullpen, it is literally impossible for it to be overworked. Especially for long relief/middle innings guys. Good point, but doesn't it seem like the 2nd best case scenario (next to us just scoring like 8 more runs) seem to be: Richard holds us in it and one of the bad bullpen guys blows a save. Better than just letting Hendricks get our asses beat, though.
