Guzman was 0-6 with a 7.39 ERA with the Cubs last season he pitched in only 2 games that he went over 5 innings. one he went 6 the other he went 5.1 he had a game where he gave up 8 runs to the Pirates he had a game where he gave up 7 runs to the Rockies these arnt exactly world series winning teams Guzman was terrible when he got called up... Unless he can go back to old form i dont see anything from him...

so that puts him at about 93?

I've just been reading some of the posts that have been made and to me it just seems that alot of cubs fans are down. We got Lou Piniella and the majority of fans wanted Girardi. Jim Hendry is still the GM. Ramirez isnt signed (maybe you dont want him back idunno). Pierre isnt coming back. There are alot of things that are wrong wiht this team i know. But there is a off-season right now and we have to make moves and get ready for next season. some of the moves made by the franchise may have not been the best. But im gonna at least give Lou and the cubs a chance. Im not throwing everything out now. To me that seems what alot of fans are doing. Look, Pitching wins games, we re-signed Wade Miller, we have Hill, Zambrano, Prior, and about 3-4 other "rookie" pitchers. We are probably not getting Matsuzaka but mlbtraderumors.com says that we may settle for another japanese pitcher by the name of Kei Igawa. Zambrano Hill Miller Igawa FA, or young prospect Maybe we go out and sign Zito, or Schmidt, or Padilla, Wood should be back. We can have the makings of a decent staff. im gonna give Hendry a chance to make moves this off-season and wee if he cant put together a decent team. As far as the field goes... C-Barrett 1B-Lee 2B-Theriot, Cedeno SS-Izturis 3b-(Will Ram be back?) LF-Jones CF- RF-Murton We have holes at C, and possibly 3rd if ram doesnt come back. Our team isnt in total disarray Maybe Hendry signes Gary Matthews, or makes a splash and get soriano, or Lee Maybe he makes a few trade that are unexpected, if we lose Ram, or if we keep him. Im just sayin, I think we can compete this year, lets see if Hendry can put somethin out to play everyday. And well see if Lou can be a solid manager. We have a GM, We have a manager, and we have a team with some holes. Give the guys a chance and well see if we can put a decent team together.

i agree, its like we just lost Maddux and got nuthin but a guy who sits on the DL.

He should honestly bat higher in the lineup, ties Fergie for mpst HR in a season by a pitcher...

yea i wouldnt mind Giles, id like to see Izturis at short because of the way he can field... and Theriot has shown that he can play

look i understand that Prior was great that 18 win season. But he came from the injury and what has he showed after that injury that he is the same as what he once was? he been pitching and back on the DL what 3 times? it seems people are still resting his case on that 18 win season...yea he was great but thats over...hes been on the DL on and off ever since, what makes you think he can repeat what he did 3 seasons ago after all the arm trouble? and the thing about all this is... what is his injury? why is he hurt? is it just soreness? what is it?

Izturis isnt bad, and i would put him there before a throw a young Theriot there. I would take the risk of putting marmol in the closer role then see dempster again... and Hill was AMAZING in triple A, Guzman had like a 3 and a half ERA the first time we brought him up. please, Guzman needs to show something in freakin A ball before he gets in the rotation. He has been Ugly.

why do people consistantly count on Wood and Prior as far as im concerned the arnt even alive why do you even CONSIDER them pitching next year? They get hurt EVERY YEAR and EVERY YEAR you count on them again and EVERY YEAR they go down again its like a kid who gets whipped for doin somthin bad, you dont even try to stop, you just come back for more whippings STOP COUTING ON THEM, THEY WILL GET HURT AGAIN SAVE IT!

a couple things... i read somewhere that Juan Pierre woudnt come back unless Dusty, and shoot me if Dusty comes back... so im assuming. mlbtraderumors.com says that Ramirez will proably be back. Having said that i would still try to re-sing him but i dont think hell be back My only problem with Playing Pie in C next year is that he will have rookie struggles and if we are plannig on winning now he cant play out there. Im putting together my roster together as if Wood and Prior arnt even on my roster. if they come back healthy then its like a trade that we give nuthin. Wade Miller struck out 8 in 5 innings last start and gave up 1 earned run. from what i saw he has a pretty good curveball. he was pitching low 80's fastballs when he first came back from the injury, now he is pitching low 90's. i saw him hit 92 and even 93 once or twice. imagine what an offseason will do to him to get his arm strength back... Murton plays somewhere in the outfield.... FA pickup, Alfonso Soriano, a 40-40 guy, give him the money... i would LOVE Zito but i dont think we have the cabbage... so i would settle for schmidt Staff 1. Zambrano, Ace of staff i expect 15-20 wins 3. Schmidt, give me 12-15 wins 4. Hill, he has looked lights out im hoping for 2 things, either a Prior esque year and goes out and wins 18 or sumthin, or goes like 10-12. We have to put him there because of what he has done lately Miller, With a offseason of working wiht his arm strength i think this guy will have what it takes to go back to old form. 5. From waht i see we have, Marshall, Mateo, Guzman, Marmol let me say something here? why does anyone have Guzman in their rotation for next year? The guy gets BLOWN AWAY every outing! He has shwon NOTHING that says he can be a starter. HES 0-6 WITH A ERA OVER 7! 0-6!!!! OVER 7!!!! his ERA over the last month is 9!!!! 9!!!!! Why do you have faith in him, he has been HORRIFIC!!! but back to my team... I love Marmol, and he hasnt been what he was since going to the bullpen and wiht the injury. Closer Marmol...I love him and i think he has great potential to be starter or closer...but for now Now since i put this together assuming Prior and Wood are hurt...now imagine if they are healthy Zambrano Prior Wood Schmidt Hill/Miller/Marshall,,, LINEUP C-Barrett, one of the best in the NL 1B-Lee, givin 2B-Theriot, he has earned it SS-Izturis, 1 thing and i thing only, FIELDING 3B-Ramirez, all he does is put up numbers, .291, 35, 111...THOSE ARE GREAT STATS. The Outfield is Soriano Jones Murton i dont know who playes where but those are the 3 who play... Lineup...i hate losing Pierre because we have no leadoff hitter now... candidates Soriano, why? he has done it all year, Why not? becaus he hits 40 HR's Theriot, Why? he has a great avg. Why not? he has never done it for a full year, and he is too young. Murton, Why? great on-base guy and avg. Why not? young, never done it.. I didnt OVER edit sammy. I moved his contact up to about 85 vs righties and 86/87 vs lefties, and put his power to 90 vs both. Thats not too far away from what he was at one time...years ago. Anyways, right now I am 24-1 this year. My one loss? A 1-0 loss against the cardinals in game 2 of the season :( im gonna be dead on...

i never have any worries about out bench because hendry is in love with veteren bench players... he just loves to over pay for them.

hmmm... my guess is 160 and 2. Z wins everystart with a .56 ERA every other guy wins 20+ since you edited Sosa he hit .411, 88 HR, 203 RBI's. every other guys hits .300 + 30+ HR 100+ RBIS you lose one game because a fan catches a sure foul out down the left field line. and you lose the other one because of a key error, in a 7th run inning... and we sweep though the playoffs. and win world series... hey you can always dream...

Through all of this, Id rather have a great hitting catcher, but having to go out and find a good LF, then have a Great hitting catcher play LF, and going out to find a good catcher. so...in other words id rather have to find a good LF and keep Barrett at C then to move barrett to LF and go find another C on the Steve Stone issue...i was watching a game one time, and I swear to god he said "If Kerry doesnt keep this ball down this guy is going to hit it over the left field bleachers" and the pitch... CRACK.... i turn on the radio to hear Ron Santo.... "NOOOO, NOOOOOOO, DANGIT!!!!" Pat Hughes... "and he has just put his team ahead 3-0 on a long homerun to left field" Steve Stone was a psycic back in the day, now hes lost it...
