  1. Looks like we have a couple of good play-off games.
  2. Just want to check on the legality of a recent move. I picked up a player, who is currently with the Rockies, for the sole purpose of stashing him in my minors during the off season?????? Darn, I thought that I had another year of eligibility with Granderson....(you get three exemptions). Mauer will also be non-exempt this year. I should have traded Dunn when I had the chance.
  3. Where's the love?!? Now that Tim (in the spirit of Chicago politics) has agreed to let me use NSBB prmium for half price, go TIMMMM! How is that for lov'n :D
  4. It looks like I will end the regular season with a victory. A disappointing season (considering that I made the play-offs last year), but there is hope with Buchholz, Maybin, Kendrick, Slowey, Votto, etc.. 2008 should be better. Good luck in the play-off! I just hope it is someone besides NSBB or GHS. :D
  5. Delgado is hurt!!!! I am shocked!!
  6. 7 of the 8 teams are below .500? That's crazy. The avg age of the well over 500 club is almost 23, while Boise who has two starting pitchers in their rotation at 18 in Acosta and 19 in Huseby. The Giants always seem to leave players at Salem longer than do other clubs.
  7. I hope Boise makes the play-offs. I missed them when they traveled through Salem earlier this year.
  8. Playing out these last few weeks is tough. I want to field my best team so that those who are competing for the play-offs have competition, but my season is over :( A couple more no-hitters by my young pitchers would cheer me up.
  9. From BA (Manuel's Chat:
  10. From BA (Manuel's chat); Sounds like Vitters needs to work on pitch selectivity.
  11. I was going to comment on that, but you beat me to it. :D Well, it turns out that it wouldn't have mattered. With the 71 points that Buchholz earned, I still would have been defeated this week. Gives me hope for next year though.
  12. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Buchholz is still in my minors. :wall: What a season!
  13. So we can claim someone as long as they are in the majors, but not if they are still in the minors?
  14. No It would be nice though.
  15. Ouch.
  16. I am uncertain as to what to make of the obvious pleasure you take in eliminating the Quakers :(

    week 21

I haven't been following the AL very closely, so I was shocked when I read that Wakefield has won 16 games already this year. Talk about a surprise 20-game winner if he makes it. you are aware he is a knuckleballer aren't you? Wakefield consistently puts up very good numbers on a yearly basis. He plays for the best offense in baseball. He throws a lot of innings. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he won 20. but I've always been a wakefield fan. Yes, I am aware that he is a knuckleballer, hence the sarcasm. He has been on the Quakers in years past, but he was always very inconsistant. Apparently that is not the case this year. BTW - Are you managing the Bashers too??

for what purpose would wakefield use steroids? Exactly O:)

Sure now Anderson has a 10-rbi game, after I bench him. Arg...what a season!

    WEEK 20

I can relate to this. For a brief period of time I had the best offense in the league, but then injuries, poor pitching, etc... Ah well, time to be a Cub's fan and say "Just wait until next year!"

    WEEK 20

Now Beltran decides to get healthy and start hitting. :x
  23. I haven't seen Clevenger catch, but I did see him at second last season for Boise. Let's just say that I thought his defensive skills at second were part of the reason his was attempting to catch this year. Also, IMHO you should throw his offensive numbers this year at Boise out the window. He was playing below his level, so that he could work on his catching skills. That being said, he showed promise of being a fairly good contact hitter with gap power. I would loved to be proven wrong, but I would need to see him suceed at a higher level before I would get too excited.

    WEEK 18

I replaced Beltran with Anderson, since Carlos is going in the DL.
  25. I am sorry. I thought this was a thread about some of the managers in Roadkill :D
