  1. In order for the Cubs to make the wild card, Fred must travel for the rest of the season.
  2. Its pretty easy to do the coulda/shoulda/woulda debate on any draft....let alone baseball which is the biggest crap shoot of any of the drafts, IMHO. Is Mauer is a once-in-a-lifetime catcher ? Maybe. Only time will tell. Was Prior considered a once-in-a-lifetime pitching prospect ? I believe so. The jury is still out on Prior's future as an MLB pitcher. I can't second guess management on making their choice.
  3. Its a conspiracy I tell you, a real conspiracy. Must be those damn Cards fans recruiting Queen votes...
  4. HA...my vote just tied it. I like Queen plenty but Pink Floyd is better.........
  5. Herzog is definitely the anti-Dusty. I doubt he returns to manage the Cubs but if he does they better get defibrillators (sp?) in the dugout cause with this team Whitey will have a jammer right there on the dugout steps within a month.
  6. I'm rooting for the Dodgers cause of Nomah and Maddux. Plus I would love to see Grady Little back in the playoffs in his 1st season back managing. The announcers will bring up the ol' "He didn't pull Pedro ... etc" schtick every game.
  7. I'm a bit surprised by this trade. I like Betemit. Doesn't seem like the Braves got much in return. I assume Cox/Scheurholz know a bit more about baseball than I do. Oh well.
  8. God bless Z !! Thats all Thank You. God Bless You Z.
  9. Good job on a winning streak WindyCity....are trying to NOT get Dusty fired ?.....j/k...
  10. Tough luck in the draw for The Allman Brothers. They must have p***** off someone in the selection committee.
  11. I cannot in good conscience vote for The Eagles because Don Henley is such a hypocrite. Plus STP is better anyhow.
  12. Only 4 in Premium. I gotta get me some Premium then.
  13. I give you credit Scott....you got 5 pages out of this thread. That's 5 more than I thought you would.
  14. Question for Wojo : "Have you watched more than one Cubs game this season ? Thanks."
  15. Agree. Hendry's hand is being forced and the point-of-no-return has been reached.
  16. I know he doesn't have the stats but I always liked watching Earl Campbell drag 8 defenders down the field. That man was solid.
  17. Funny thing is when I first saw the headline on ESPN.com I thought it meant Dusty had been fired last night. Nothing new from Wojoalphabet.
  18. =D> =D> =D> for Nomah !!!! Congrats.
  19. On the date that the Cubs are mathematically eliminated from finishing .500 do these threads stop ? Just curious.
  20. I will make a small coment....who exactly cares what middle America thinks about soccer ?......the world is only slighty bigger than middle America (sic).....The World Cup had been incredibly entertaining.....who exactly cares if middle America is watching b/c the rest of the world is watching.........get a slight grip on reality and maybe the myopic attitude is desimmate. Thanks. Thats all.
  21. I'm not a fan of Jimy Williams at all. Much of his success can be attributed to his association with Bobby Cox. When he was fired from the Blue Jays in 1989 (I think) Cox gave him the 3rd Base Coach job in Atlanta where he stayed until getting the Red Sox job in 1996 (I think). IIRC, one of his big problems is communication with the players. He does not handle the media well. I believe in Boston and in Houston he lost the respect of the players because he was deemed as not always being up front with them. FWIW, he always looks like he has a bag of s*** in his mouth or like someone ran over his dog. I would not be a supporter of this hire at all.
  22. I don't believe a GM can make statements like that and not end up doing something. The writing is now firmly on the wall.
  23. Incredible match.....what soccer is all about. FWIW----BBC reporting USA has offerred the job to Klinsmann @ $3MM per yr.
