  1. Huh? What I'm saying is that we will miss the playoffs, and that Jacque Jones is singlehandedly nearly killing my joy in watching the cubs. Love the sweep to a 60 win team today. Lou is a horrid horrid manager, and he really showed it this week.
  2. Incorrect. We lost that right when we signed Jacque Jones, Cliff Floyd, Neifi, Macias, etc. We only made it worse when we acquired Trachsel and Monroe, and decided that Theriot was our best SS. The fans may deserve it, but the team does not. Bad decisions are the curse. Jim Hendry and Lou Piniella are the curse. MacPhail is the curse, and so is Baker, Kimm, Baylor, etc. (and Sarge)
  3. He's the new Neifi. Coach's kid. We're stuck with him. Somewhere, Hendry is eating gallons of ice cream and screaming, "Why am I so damned dumb?" into the darkness.
  4. with kendall already in the game, why not PH with him and put Pie in center??? Lou is a bad manager. That is the answer.
  5. You're just wasting the service charge if you buy them. Cubs lose out, and this nightmare can end. I'm not sure if I can root for another Cubs team with Jones on it.
  6. shocking I was thinking of putting him as one through five, but I didn't want anyone to think he was my fifth favorite. :D
  7. 1. Murton 2. Soto 3. Lee 4. Aramis 5. Marmol
  8. I do not want this team to go to the postseason. It hurts my brain to imagine us in the playoffs with Jones and Floyd stealing PT from younger, better players, and our horrid management of C. Making the playoffs will reward Hendry and Piniella for their idiocy, and I just don't see anything good about rewarding their asinine behavior and beliefs about baseball. I think the Cubs will be worse off in 5 years if we make the playoffs and Hendry is retained than if we miss, the new owner cleans out the front office, and a new direction is taken.
  9. Who's Matt Murton? Floyd killed that ball. LOL. Clearly, based on one ab, Murton should never play again. You are enlightening.
  10. I miss Matt Murton. Is he touring with the Sex Pistols now?
  11. This team is a waste of time. Even if we make the playoffs somehow, it doesn't matter. No chance to win in October, no plan for the future, no more prospects, no idea how to use them anyhow, and no sale until long after the winter meetings. Enjoy the 2008 Cubs, same as the 2007 Cubs, but older and worse.
  12. We literally have no chance of winning this game. On the off chance that man is causing global warming, lets all turn off our televisions and move on.
  13. I disagree. Most of the players on this team should be boo'ed constantly, and even the good ones should be boo'ed when they screw up. He's done a fine job, but he just blew a big game in an embarrassing way. BOOOOOOO!!!
  14. Another ab against a lefty for Jones. /sigh
  15. And now Ward starts over Murton. Will it ever end? When will Matt EVER get a chance? This is a tragedy. We waste our young players, except for princess Theriot and Marmol.
  16. I agree, but he's rating better defensively than Floyd is this year.
  17. So, Bud Selig may dump cronyism if he can handcuff the Cubs to the same roster next year?
  18. I dislike Jones more than any player on this team. We are a far better team without him, letting Pie easily match his offense and far exceed his defense. We watch the Tulowitzki's and Ryan Brauns of the world have great years, and we banish our #1 prospect to the bench forever. Jones is a fraud of a MLB OF and a joke at the plate. There is very little to like about him on his own account, and even less if you consider that we have a much better option on the bench. I'm sure your sample size-independent lovefest is fun, but the truth is that Jones has hurt this team from day one, and he's not done yet. I'll admit that much of this abortion is Lou's fault, leaving him in to face lefties (why on earth), but Jones is his own bad player. When you combine never taking walks, hitting for no power, having no arm, and getting thrown out on the basepaths, you have a terrible player, and that is what JJ is. He is not good at baseball. I am continually disappointed by the sudden love and adoration for a man that has destroyed so much of our offense over the last two years. He is garbage, and he should be booed until he is traded or non-tendered. Every start he gets is a leap in the wrong direction for this team, and every three pitch strikeout or horrid throw is a reminder of that.
  19. LOL. Not if you read his latest interviews. I would say odds are he won't play for us either. Incorrect. As of today, his father has stated all the rumors are false. If you choose to go on believing otherwise, I cannot stop you. InsideIllini and IlliniBoard are garbage when things are going badly, as they are right now. Rivals is the only place with a consistent flow of new news and interviews, both national and U of I.
  20. Damn, Pman, I didn't realize that people disliked you so. I don't really have any problem with your mod'ing on the IB, and wherever you are now. The problem is that people say "even slightly critical", but what they actually meant was over the top screaming and swearing. These people have less control than a coke addict with tourette syndrome (sp?). I've admired your sources and links since I joined the community, so don't let these ridiculous people influence you. Probably all Fowa fans anyhow. That said, Murton played a nice role in last night's game, and hopefully he's back in action. His second hit was against a righty, so that's cool. I'll never understand the backlash against Murton these days. There are people that cannot handle the fact that there is a popular player who will do well for us, given a chance, I suppose. He's gotta cut those errors out, though. No more excuses for Lou.
  21. Its pretty safe to say that this makes Lou the worst manager ever. I mean, jesus, his splits against righties are the worst I have really ever seen, especially the OBP. He might be the worst hitter in the mlb against righties with that sub .250 OBP. Koyie Hill may have been better there. I know alot of people were okay with getting Craig, but anyone who has been paying attention the last 5 years of this organization knows that low OBP trash heap veterans always start on this team. Couple that with today's bizarre sending the runners with no outs BS, and Lou has me convinced that he's trying to lose. I realize that all managers are a lost cause of baseball wrongness, but holy christ, the enormity of the blunder is amazing. Everyone in this whole organization needs to be replaced and deported to a country where baseball doesn't exist. Does anyone actually think that that was our best lineup? Does anyone actually think that Monroe isn't locked in as the starter in LF?
  22. Nothing better than Monroe batting against a righty in any situation. God, Lou is a horrid manager. He's the worst possible choice here.
  23. The only thing keeping the Cubs in first right now is the utter collapse of the Brewers. Of course, the only thing keeping the Brewers and Cards in striking distance is the Cubs' crappy play. Have we really played that crappy lately? Before this series, we had one the last two. We still might win this one. :D maybe my optimism is rubbing off on someone! We have been crappy, but no more or less so than you would expect.
