Okay, so the original post was way overblown and full of energy. You may now turn your sarcasm meters off. In all reality, we're in trouble. We need to move alot of our middle of the road players to become a good team in any respect. We have stars like Lee and Aram, and a few promising guys like Murton and Theriot, and DeRosa is a fine utility guy who hits well enough, but the rest of the team is either overpaid so badly its gonna kill us (Blanco, Soriano, Jones), or aging dinosaurs of the game who used to be great (Floyd, Soriano again). We need to decide if we'd rather make a weak stab at the playoffs this year and get passed by the rest of the division the next 4 years, or if we have a yard sale and get what we can from our guys, maybe parting with a good player to elevate the overall ability of the team. I'm for sacking a year that already blows, forgoing any loyalty to players, and creating a new team around two or three guys. Then we can begin to improve with youth and younger guys, reversing the alarming rate at which we're getting older with less OBP. Time to sell the farm and buy the one next to it.
