  1. Its time to move on from this guy. He's the Jacque Jones of this season with more errors. Due to the fact that we already have a Jones on the team, time to part ways.
  2. wow, that's classy. What happened? Just got back to my desk. The Cubs needed Murton to play regularly and play well, he's not playing regularly and he's not playing well either. He's looked pretty poor out in the field. It's been said before, but that just reiterates the point the Cubs don't have a single OF playing where he should be playing. And they've got a couple guys on the infield who aren't ideal for their position either. Lee and Ramirez are the only everyday players playing where they belong everyday. Regardless if he plays once a year. A MLB player should be able to catch a routine fly ball. Yeah, he should. But playing out of position and dealing with the sun made that far from routine for Murton. Right. The Sun. He's been playing baseball his whole life under the lights. I forgot that no one had ever lost a ball in the sun before. I actually wonder if Theriot lost it first and told Matt.
  3. That is some BS. Should have been a bomb or a double off the wall. Wrigley has been exremely hurtful to the Cubs this year.

  5. I'm right here dude. I've been here the whole time. He's still the 2nd best OF on the team. No one likes you.
  6. Wow, Matt. You're really earning more playing time. Get your crap together, man.
  7. Knowing our luck, probably Rupert Murdoch ok, i have a myspace account, but i would NEVER support the cubs in ANY WAY if murdoch was the owner. NEVER. That would be huge (edit: HUGE) mistake on your part. Murdoch is a very rich man because he is very extremely successful and smart with all of his assets. If any man can turn the Cubs into the Midwest Yankees complete with media hype and wins to boot, its a man like Murdoch. Don't let your politics get in the way of what would be a great thing for the Cubs. God, only a liberal can see a bad thing when one of the most successful men in the world is suggested as a buyer for the world's worst bigtime franchise. Shouldn't you be in a drum circle or music festival somewhere?
  8. This year's Cubs are the last vestiges of an outgoing regime that has been slighted by its own inadequacies at every turn and a warped perspective of what leads to success. Hendry and the Trib will pull out all the stops, as if they haven't already, making a huge push for the present, mortgaging the future and any hope it may hold. Next year will be even worse. I asked ltb the other day who we'd sign next year, but I only gave him two options: Andruw Jones and Torii Hunter. Do you really think Jim can resist giving six years 100 million to a non-white aging OF with declining skills, but a huge name? Neither do I. Also, keep your ears up for our first midseason trade of a promising pitcher for some OBP light utility IF or "power" trash OF as well as another prospect for a middle of the road reliever. Let me try and guess it right now: A) Donald Veal for David Weathers B) Mike Fontenot and Sean Gallagher for Chad Bradford That's my best guess.
  9. Okay, so the original post was way overblown and full of energy. You may now turn your sarcasm meters off. In all reality, we're in trouble. We need to move alot of our middle of the road players to become a good team in any respect. We have stars like Lee and Aram, and a few promising guys like Murton and Theriot, and DeRosa is a fine utility guy who hits well enough, but the rest of the team is either overpaid so badly its gonna kill us (Blanco, Soriano, Jones), or aging dinosaurs of the game who used to be great (Floyd, Soriano again). We need to decide if we'd rather make a weak stab at the playoffs this year and get passed by the rest of the division the next 4 years, or if we have a yard sale and get what we can from our guys, maybe parting with a good player to elevate the overall ability of the team. I'm for sacking a year that already blows, forgoing any loyalty to players, and creating a new team around two or three guys. Then we can begin to improve with youth and younger guys, reversing the alarming rate at which we're getting older with less OBP. Time to sell the farm and buy the one next to it.
  10. The AB doesn't start until 0-2. -Alfonso Soriano
  11. Time to change my sig. The honeymoon is over.
  12. Under. Under. We score 2 after a dp and a strikeout.
  13. Our problem is that we could have gotten more from our FA signings if we had just gone out and gotten six catchers. We needed OBP and power, we signed Soriano who hasn't shown much of either. We needed pitchers with control, we got that somehow. We needed a bullpen, we were too busy getting hackers with no power.
  14. I hate nearly every player on this team. I hope we lose every game for the rest of the year and clean total house when the new owners show up, even our great players must go. Try and get as much value as possible, and eat some of the losses. Wait for the FA market to start getting new players. Please mix OBP in as much as humanly possible. I'd like to impose a rule that if you have more than ten innings or fifty ABs with the Cubs in the last five years, you cannot play for the Cubs ever again. Also, the Chicago media will not get any interviews or questions from the team, manager, or front office. Only out of towners can ask questions. Fans can't speak with the team either. The new players need to not know what it is to be the cubs.
  15. Oh boy. Gotta love that... /belches ichor and blood
  16. Teratoma, the king of all tumors. http://www.leemsilver.net/CNmedia/images/teratoma-jpg%20%20003.jpg Its a stem cell based tumor! Look at that hand! Gross!
  17. I have my sig all figured out for now. I think it works.
