  1. Levine never said CLE has offered Miller and Guiterrez for Roberts. He said CLE had Miller and Gutierrez who could be part of a package for Roberts. Big difference there.
  2. This is one thing Jimbo can mark off his list for the winter. Now on to the other priorities...
  3. Dodgers wouldn't do that deal, either in my opinion
  4. The first Cubs move will be to resign KWood. My guess is during the GM meetings.
  5. Thanks, Raisin. I'm glad we got him back. I liked him when the Tigers got him from us and now hopefully he'll come back stronger after this surgery.
  6. ESPN says the Tigers outrighted him to Iowa. Someone please explain
  7. I need three for Game 4 but only at a reasonable price. Feel free to email me.
  8. Yes, he's been striking out this season more than what i recall him doing in the past. Its obvious he's had trouble from early on in the year. I wouldn't be surprise the K levels and low HR totals are somewhat related to that wrist injury.
  9. Agreed-they are dreadful to listen to.
  10. Marshall for Griffey-NO!!. I love Marshall's upside but would not be opposed to moving him in the right deal. What do you guys think maybe of a trade involving Marshall and Markakis as the center pieces?
  11. I have no problem with the trade, other than the fact that it doesn't make us any better at the ML level. I like taking the chance on this Burke kid. His numbers may not look real good up to this point, but good grief, he's just 19 yrs old. If you have the tools, maybe with time, it pays off. My hope now is that Hendry does something to make a splash that helps us get closer to MIL.
  12. I too like him as a starter and he's proven he could be successful in that role, but in my heart I think he will/could be a star as a closer. It's him that needs to be groomed for that role, not Guzman. Guzman could be a 7th-8th inning bridge to Marmol.
  13. Who are the advance scouts that are holdovers from the Dusty era? Might be a valid argument on this one.
  14. Wonder where we could find a link to what are considered black out areas based on where we live?
  15. I had the same thought when I heard that Mussina and Pavano both went to the DL. My guess is we probably wouldn't get much in return, but I guess something is better than what he has shown so far for us.
  16. This guy needs to get his head straight. Maybe this will shock him into realizing that just because he was a top pick and considered one of the best prospects in the system, that he needs to get his stuff straightened out. Is this guy just a head case (kinda like Sisco was) or is it simply his lack of performance?
  17. what kind of camera do you have? i'd love to be able to get pics that good
  18. Grace is really an idiot and he has got to be one of the worst baseball analysts in the game.
  19. Did anyone just hear Gammons on Mike & Mike say Tony was just barely drunk (equal to 3 glasses of wine)? And that most managers probably aren't even up after 10pm? It sounded alot like he was defending Tony or trying to minimize what he did. Being asleep in the middle of an intersection or at a stop light is drunk. If you drink enough to where it puts you asleep, you should not be driving period. Even if he was barely drunk, the law says its .08 and he was over the limit. Good Grief.

Did PECOTA and Bill James see him barely break 85 MPH?

I didn't draft him-it was an auto draft. Mid 80's fastball even in spring training looks a bit scary to me. IMHO, its going to take more than spring training to get to a point where he is productive. It takes some time to get a fastball back in the range he needs it to be to be a productive 5th starter. What do you all think of replacing him with Jeff Francis of COL for my team? Doesn't the old saying go a bird in the hand is worth more than a bird in the bush?

Time to cut him from my team and try to get someone who may contribute at least for the first half of the season?
