  2. Why would we trade Prior? You never trade pitching for hitting, and if you were trading for another starter, what's the point? Even with his injury history, who has more upside than a 25 year old Prior? Plus, a lot of his injuries have been freak ones...let him try to recover from this ACTUAL injury, a sore shoulder, and give him time. Way way to early to try and trade him...
  3. Johnson has the 3rd best groundball to flyball ratio in baseball, and Boston has arguably the best defensive infield in the AL. Great move by Epstein per usual.
  4. Who cares anymore?
  5. Either way he's a coach on the team who is supossed to help with offensive production. It's pathetic, in any other line of work performance is expected and if not achieved, they will find someone else who can do it better.
  6. The Cubs currently stand at 255 runs scored, while the KC Royals are in 1st at only 3 runs lower, 252. Why does Sarge still have a job? I mean, his son is hitting .340 for Texas after he left the Cubs for $(@! sake .
  7. When Lee returns I suppose you could stick Nevin in LF and platoon Jones/Murton in RF. That's some shoddy defense, however.

  9. I absolutely guarantee Neifi, Blanco, Womack, and Bynum are in one lineup tomorrow.
  10. I like how they mention his limited AAA success but don't mention his .249 AVG in Zoo York or Cincy dropping his pathetic butt. Ugh. What else can even be said about this orginization right now? Hey, at least it's not Enrique Wilson. Wheres E-Patt or Coats?
  11. I'm bothered by both Bynum and Perez getting some PT over Theroit today. I don't want to hear that crap about being tired from travelling, these guys take the bus everywhere, if anything he's more adaptable. Just ridiculous. At a time like this I would be asking if the Ballboy can play RF for @$!# sake. What the hell are they doing out there? What is the goal of this team?

  14. This makes me feel marginally better about us not keeping him...more injuries. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2435971
  15. I don't know if there are any people that don't know this or not - but for the Peoria area the Cubs are available on channel 44 (Insight Cable) tonight, and they carry a lot of the CSN+ games.
  16. So....since no one else will say it...is this it? we officially want him back now?
  17. Sorry, I guess it doesnt make too much sense. Heh. My wife actually *did* slam my finger today so I guess I was trying to reach for an analogy. My point was that when injuries or accidents happen, it just sucks, you can't just point at the person in charge and blame them. However in some cases, and in this case, I think its preventable. When Jon said it seems like the Cubs can do no right - I just don't care. All I care about is seeing W's. We can make all the excuses in the book and so can the Cubs, the point is we're still failing.
  18. Respectfully, it's not Hendry's fault at all. Fact is - it's no one's fault. If your wife slams your finger in the car door, it just sucks, and if you yelled at your wife, you'd look like an $#@, wouldn't you? Injuries suck, don't blame Prior, don't blame Hendry. If anything, just hate the curse.
  19. Yes, yes it is. I can't count on one hand how many trainers we've had. Remember when Corey got hurt and they just left him in the game anyway? Meh, who cares right?
  20. You're fooling yourself if you think it's a temporary problem. With or without Lee, they have a crap bench. They need all the help they can get in that department. They've spent all their energy trying to find versatile bench players, meanwhile, they haven't bothered finding a bench player that can hit worth a lick. I don't care if a guy can only play 1B defensively, they still need bats, desperately. Totally agree
  21. According to the Daily Herald, Cubs insiders say they have little or no interest in Arizona first baseman Tony Clark. With the Cubs struggling against against left-handed pitching and Derrek Lee on the disabled list, there had been some rumblings that the club was interested in Clark.
