    Let people talk about whatever they want, especially if it is something positive. The lock/delete comments are childish. I'm to infer that you want all Cubs-related threads to be negative since that won't spawn a jinx? I mean seriously, your logic is faulted if there even is any. With that said, I think it's amazing how this team has been able to avoid losing streaks, especially with the uncertainty of the pitching staff. If someone told you that Lilly would have a 5+ era, hill would be in aaa, and marquis would be marquis, would you expect this kind of stability? I think a lot of credit needs to go to Ryan Dempster for shouldering a huge load as the default #2 in the rotation, and far exceeding any of our expectations so far.

    I'd be cool with this as well. Padres are an excellent team to rest Soto against...no real threat of speed, and I doubt we'll need an offensive explosion of our own to beat them. This series will depend more on our starting pitching being consistent, and not playing down to our competition.
