  1. Part of me wishes Milton would just give the finger to the entire stadium.
  2. Probably around the sentence where you called him a dbag.
  3. And just so everyone knows, Casey McGehee has a 918 OPS in 100 AB's for Milwaukee so far. Not to mention we could of also had Orlando Hundson for whatever the Dodgers paid him, or that Andres Blanco IS Aaron Miles for the league minimum. Ugh ugh ugh.
  4. I think the implication was that Geo was informed that he had failed a test long before it was made public oh, i didn't hear that. still though, i doubt geo was stressing over it. nobody should care I care, the Cubs care, Geo cares, Geo's family cares, MLB cares, etc. He messed up. Quit glossing it over.
  5. why wouldn't we be? it's weed. big deal. it's no worse than a player drinking Except that they drug test for weed, duh. It's like, you know, illegal and stuff. the only way you could get into legal trouble with weed is if you're really, really dumb. Good to know you're the master of all things pot. And yea, I guess that means the thousands upon thousands of people that get caught are "really, really dumb".
  6. Don't hold your breath.
  7. If I remember correctly, he had a pretty messed up upbringing. It's not inordinate, psychology wise, for him to crave attention and support. Again, that doesn't make him a dbag, or a jerk, or anything like that. Not making excuses for the guy, I just don't like the personal venom he's receiving. Saying he sucks at baseball is fine with me though, cause man does he right now. Oh, and shut up Soriano.
  8. No, it's more accurately like the Terrell Owens situation all over again.
  9. Those are pretty strong words. You don't even know the guy. He can 'have a complex' and still be a kind and caring human being. The words you used better describe Michael Vick, or the like.
  10. Good post. I can't say it any better than that.
  11. With the way this team is playing maybe they should all go out and get high together and relax, maybe then theyd quit pressing so damn bad with RISP...... You know, you're right...I don't think it could get any worse.
  12. I guess my point, more than anything else, is that with how this team is playing currently, the last thing we needed was a distraction. Oh well.
  13. I don't think it's a big deal either, in the right context. Unfortunately for Geo, he's not in the same context as you or I. He's held to a higher standard, higher responsibilities, and he messed up. It kind of bothers me no one on this board seems to care. it bothers me that you have your panties in a bunch over this. It bothers me how flippant you are about it. Bottom line is he did something illegal and you don't care. But it's pretty obvious from reading your posts on here that you don't really care about anything too much. Which is fine, but don't be so shocked when other people hold each other to higher standards. There has to be moral absolutes, especially in the professional world. The funny thing about all this is I'm pretty confident that both you and I have smoked weed, or do smoke weed, or will smoke weed. But -- if I was a professional ball player, there's no way in hell I'd touch the stuff. I mean why risk it? Explain that to me. The icing on the cake is if you asked Geo if it was a smart decision, and if he knew then what he does now (as far as it going public), I think we both know what his answer would be.

  16. You guys are missing the point on this completely. You're turning it into an argument about the legality/morality of weed, when in reality, the issue here is Geo's apparent lack of responsibility as a young player. No one cares about that? Ok.
  17. Seriously, Gibson over Blair? Did Blair have a leg amputated or something?
  18. We take Blair here, right?
  19. Lawson is headed to Denver for a future pick.
  20. You're on fire.
  21. I can definitely live with that pick. Hell, I'd easily rather have Johnson than Hansbrough. edit - spelling
  22. Johnson it is.
