  1. I'll get you a couple at least. The people of wherever you're from need to be kept up to date on this magical WS-winning season.
  2. They've always seemed to have the mindset that if they're not hitting a guy, they just need to start hacking and hope to get lucky, instead of taking pitches and trying to tire the guy out.
  3. I'm sure you have some sort of redeeming quality.
  4. The Cubs have had an amazing SB% this spring.
  5. I think his rational is, "hey, nobody's been paying attention to me for the past 5 minutes, I better say something stupid."
  6. Read back a couple of pages...or go here. Yikes. Talk about a complete overreaction. He gave up 2 hits and 0 runs in 4 innings (granted it was minor league hitters). But he's completely done for. And what's the calves thing? Just stupid. Yeah, but what kind of hitters were in the lineup? You're basically saying that he pitched bad because he didnt face great hitters......he gave up 2 hits in 4 innings, you can't say he did bad based on that. No, I'm asking what kind of hitters were in the lineup. The skill of the hitters do make a difference Yes, but if he gave up 2 hits in 4 innings to minor league hitters, thats still nothing to be worried about.

  8. Well the only reason to believe he wasnt throwing hard is that, "it wasn't popping like Marquis".
  9. 4IP, 2H, 0 R......but his career is over.
  10. Nope, pitched this morning. Well, if you call it pitching. 4 IP, 2H, 0 R..... You wouldnt call that pitching? I think there's a lot of over-reacting based on one guy's opinion.
  11. This is what the guy from bleedcubbieclue.com had to say.Dosent look good for Prior. I'm here to tell you it's unhinged. Prior threw four innings, fifty-nine pitches (only a little more than half of them, thirty-two, were strikes). He walked two, hit a batter, was constantly behind hitters, gave up two hits and no runs to a team consisting of players who will wind up spending this year playing for Tennessee and Daytona (some names I recognized: Dopirak, Fontenot, Spears, Simokaitis). The outs were hit fairly hard, and it was just not very impressive. There weren't any scouts with radar guns -- just one of the Cubs' minor leaguers behind the plate with one. I was able to see it while Jason Marquis (who was the opposing pitcher; he went today in this game because the Cubs wanted Angel Guzman to face the White Sox) was on the mound; Marquis was consistently at 90. But while Prior was throwing, this player (who I couldn't identify; he was wearing warmups) hid the gun so no one but him could see it. It didn't matter. It was easy to see that Marquis' fastball was popping into the catcher's glove; Prior's wasn't. Prior seemed to be dropping down his arm again -- that's a sign of something wrong, even though he and everyone else denies it. From the stats alone, that seems like improvement..... I guess it depends on how much this guy really knows.
  12. Do you watch many IU games? UI isnt the only team that does stupid crap for absolutely no reason.
  13. I'm guessing this is a joke Yeah, sometimes I feel like being a jerk.
  14. Don't be so negative UI fans, with Eric Gordon you should be pretty tough next year.
  15. Just 3 Oh. How many walks does Murton have? He seems to be walking every other PA and he's beeng having a very solid spring so far. Is there a site that has ST stats? http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/stats/sortable_player_stats.jsp?c_id=chc Murton's having a good spring-his OBP is 8th best on the team (I'm taking out both the two people with 1 AB and Koyie Hill with 5 AB's to get that figure) and he's 6th in SLG. Thanks for the info. It seems like most of the people ahead of Murton are just on a hot streak. I can see Murton having similar numbers through the season. I know thats biased because Murton is my favorite player, but he's had a really good approach so far - good IsoD, good SLG

  17. I don't know if there is room. Lou likes him. I don't think there's going to be room for Wuertz. That would be a catastrophic mistake. Agreed. I can see it happening but I would not like it. I don't see it as a huge deal-even if it happens, if one of the relievers starts struggling Lou will ask for Wuertz very, very quickly-he's not going to languish in the minors while people in the majors struggle for long periods this year. I just think he's definitely proved himself the past couple years.

  19. I don't know if there is room. Dempster, Wood, Howry, Eyre, Ohman, Wuertz, Cotts....Its ganna be crowded. I could see him taking Wuertz or Ohman's spot.
