  1. How is Lou responsible for the fact that freakin Ohman couldn't throw a strike. So who made the decision to put Ohman in? He should have put in Wuertz to begin with. I'm sure everyone on here would have made that call.
  2. Why the hell isnt Cherry on this team when you have garbage like Cotts, Eyre, and Ohman?
  3. Lou hasn't really carried his good coaching into the season. I'm getting kind of sick of him already.
  4. Why would you do that? 5-0 Cubs. Z on the mound. OVA! Some reasons it might not be "ova": Cotts, Eyre, Howry, Dempster.
  5. Man, the injuries are going to start getting ridiculous again. I liked this movie better when it was called 2004-2006.
  6. I guess you don't understand the business of baseball then. Just because all of you think Cuban is the solution and want him to buy to Cubs, it doesn't mean that MLB and the owners agree. He has no chance. Do you have inside information? If so please share. If not, your post is very presumptive. First off, anyone with baseball knowledge knows it is common sense that Cuban would not be allowed to purchase the club with the way he behaves. Second, yes I do have inside information for reason which I cannot reveal...like I like being employed. Are you a spy for the government? I love how so many new posters have such amazing and mysterious sources of knowledge. RedIvyCub's been a member since late 2003. Just because a member doesn't post a lot doesn't mean they don't have insight, information, or sources. For example, in the pre-NSBB days, I was a long-time lurker on cubs.com and (sometimes) espn. I had somewhere around 250 posts total in several years. I guess my comment was more a reaction to his condescending remarks such as, "anyone with baseball knowledge knows" and "I guess you don't understand the business of baseball then". Even if he has inside information, thats just annoying.

  8. How many pitches did he throw in that CG? Baker probably had him throw 130 pitches in early April and that CG was probably the beginnings of why he is where he is.
  9. This is one situation where the old adage "stats don't show you everything" is actually true. Lee has only 2 walks but clearly has shown patience at the plate and a willingness to work the count and wait for his pitch. It just happens he's getting "his pitch" more often than not (hence his .424 batting average). Murton on the other hand is swinging at the first pitch more often than not. He's beating the ball into the ground (.267 SLG? You kidding?). He's not waiting for his pitch at all like we know he's capable of doing. Chalk that up to feeling pressure from Floyd's PT if you want, but he's not the Murton of 05 or 06 right now. To reiterate... Murton's current line: .267/.313/.267/.580 Murton's line if he hits a double in his next AB: .313/.353/.400/.753 Yeah, well, Murton with the game on the line = 0/1 = .000/.000/.000/.000 Seriously, if Murton were 0 for the season right now it wouldn't be a huge deal. Its 16 PA's with irregular playing time.
  10. Is this a joke? I'm hoping both of his posts are.
  11. How are so many people saying Murton can't take a walk anymore? That is ridiculous. He's had 16 ABs and had 1 BB. Lee has 33 ABs and 2 BBs. I can understand being frustrated with the way a team starts a season, but acting like a young playing has lost his game because of 16 ABs when he's not playing regularly is a bit much.
  12. this is really bad for your metabolism. Not to mention sanity? Nothing that a few drinks won't cure. Oddly enough, you're problems will still be there when you sober up. That's why you keep drinking... And then you have a little problem called death.

  14. I don't know the stats, but it doesn't seem like pinch hitting is Murton's cupotea.
  15. Miller is the only starter to cost us a game so far.....and maybe Zambrano on opening day.
  16. At least he can afford a really nice vacation.
  17. One more time: This is absolutely ridiculous.
  18. This is unbelievable. We shouldn't even bother getting people on first.
  19. You have got to be kidding me. Is anyone watching on TV? I think Pat and Ron are playing a joke on us.
  20. Same ownership and GM? True....but they seem like the same players doing that same stupid things....I guess Hendry just really knows how to pick em.
  21. With completely new management and so many new players, how do we keep getting these reruns?
  22. ...as is any good ball club. I don't think you understand how people score runs. There is no such thing as "clutch" hitting and "manufacturing runs." At least if there is, its no more efficient that "waiting for the 3 run homer". Ain't nothing wrong with high OBP and lots of power. Unfortunately our team is missing both right now. You're right, but I think we're built for hitting weak groundballs and hoping for errors.....and strikeouts and hoping the catcher misses the 3rd strike.
  23. Same here....now I'll be really surprised if we win tomorrow.
