  1. Too bad we couldn't have kept Prior in the minors for an extra 4 years.
  2. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Looper is going to win the Cy Young, its inevitable. Then the White Sox and Cardinals are going to meet in the WS which will be played at Wrigley. In game 7, both teams will decide to share the title and proceed to burn Wrigley to the ground, rape and pillage all the Cub fans and then piss on Wrigley's ashes...... With the way baseball has gone the past few years, like I said, its inevitable.
  3. Boy isn't this the truth. He's gotta get the Dusty out of the baserunning, the Dusty out of Murton, the Dusty out of Zambrano (walks..ugh), and the Dusty out of the fan's mindset. That's a lot of work to do.... Now who's gonna get the Hendry out of this team? Mark Cuban
  4. Lou, start giving Murton more regular PT and I think we'll get along fine.
  5. I got a very excited feeling in my stomach reading that.
  6. Months? Are we talking just this year (in which case, this doesn't make sense, nobody uses pre-season in a comparison between players). Or are you including last season? I may be braindead, but I don't even remember Hill doing anything significant last year. All I can recollect is that he was one of many going up and down last year as players came on/off the DL. Am I missing something here?
  7. rich hill is becoming my favorite human being Lol, good one.....Rich Hill, a human being.....yeah, sure.
  8. That's the only reason I still have any hope.
  9. I hope no officials find out that Hill is a cyborg.
  10. That Richard is such a nice young man.
  11. At least we'll have occasional feasts this year. Its an improvement.
  12. To be fair, the famine can be attributed solely to Ohman and Eyre and I think one bad outing for Howry. You do know that's 1/2 the bullpen right? The other half has 0 ERAs. That's the definition of feast or famine. No, thats 2/7 of the bullpen. I wasn't counting Howry as part of that, just saying he had one bad outing, which happens to everyone. My point was that we have 2 bad relievers so its not like the bullpen is unreliable, its that 2/7 of the bullpen is unreliable.
  13. To be fair, the famine can be attributed solely to Ohman and Eyre and I think one bad outing for Howry.
  14. If you want to show it's a farce, pick a player who sucks and is not popular. Ronny Cedeno perhaps. A much better idea, except if we're going to do this, it'd be best to pick based on which position would be easiest to push someone in. Would it be easier to go with an OFer? Angel Pagan it is. Doesn't the winner have to be a Major Leaguer to qualify? It seems like SS or 2B would be easiest since there aren't many stars there....Maybe catcher.....Blanco, anyone?
  15. We'll trade Zambrano fo him and then Z will not allow a run the rest of the year and ARod's head will fall off.
  16. Looks like I made the right decision to go watch Lost at a friends house. There are some very easy decisions this team needs to make. Get rid of freaking Eyre, Ohman, Izturis, Miller, and Jones. Trade them for whatever you can get, release them, or send them to A ball. Put Guzman in the rotation, bring up Cherry and another minor leaguer for the bullpen. Have Murton/Floyd/Pie share time in the outfield, either move DeRosa to SS and put Theriot at 2B or just put Theriot at SS, or use the junk players to trade for a decent SS. With just that the team would be very much improved. ...and the Cubs ARE cursed. Hendry hasn't been around for 99 years.
  17. So Barrett might have to fly into a double play?
  18. Has there been a time this year when the Cubs have had a runner on first and not done that?
  19. If he can start being efficient he could go to the 7th.
  20. At least Zambrano did this last April so there's a good chance he starts dominating at some point.
  21. Last I heard, Prior was fully healthy and ready to go full speed with the rest of the team. Yep. Heard the same thing. Is this for real or is it a sick joke? Unfortunately I'll never be able to make myself give up on Prior. It's a sick joke. As of yesterday... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070417&content_id=1914512&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Not cool guys....not cool.
  22. Based on what? He's gotten older (turns 32 this season) and it's been 4 seasons since he played shortstop. He doesn't look as mobile as he did when he was with the Rangers (but hey, he'd still be a better defensive SS than Jeter). If, as Bob said, he could prove me wrong, I'd love a Z-for-ARod trade. Put ARod at 2B and move DeRosa to SS. However, I'd be very worried about our rotation without Zambrano. Marquis, Miller, and Guzman all in the same rotation could end up very bad (I like Guzman, but he's not a sure thing).
