Dangit.....Now they'll let Eyre stick around. My only hope for this season is weeding out the crap. Miller gone, I was hoping for Eyre, and then Theriot to replace Izturis......One can hope.

It would be so much easier to root for this team if they weren't getting paid so much. If we had a team like the Marlins, Pirates, or Royals, I could cheer for them even if they lost like this. But when you have a $100 million payroll....I just hate them.

especially since he was the "payoff" for an asset with some value Yeah, that was definitely part of the equation. Its funny that literally getting nothing for Maddux would have been so much better.

He's so danged awesome that his ERA has only dropped .03 in these 2 shutout innings so far.

Yeah he needs to go. The org just doesn't seem to have any faith in him. He's currently 3rd in the RF depth chart and has no other position to play. Hard to explain how a team that values a young player would treat him this way. A great, young, patient, player comes through their system (via Boston), the best position player since Grace, and they play an old, injured, way past his prime, veteran instead..... The Cubs freaking rock.

I wish they would just trade Murton so he could become the very good player he's bound to be. He's just going to wither away playing for this crap organization.
