I have failed to see anything of significant value than some reporters stating that the Cubs should do it. When does something cross that line from being a report from a rumor? Just wondering... All I want for Christmas is Prior in the rotation...I am getting sick thinking about trading him... Usually when this kind of thing happens, and its false, Hendry comes out of his lair to do some PR damage control. The fact that he isn't refuting the Prior trade discussions is alarming. Hendry rarely says anything when the media is talking, i don't see how this is any different. Is the rumor true, maybe and I am sure to some extent. ESPN an other news outlets are hitting this pretty hard. But lets look back at his history rather than judging him on a future that none of us have any clue about. I think the trade is possible, and I am sure the O's asked about Prior if the Cubs asked about Tejada. None of us have any other clue to what is going on outside of that, and its not Hendry's job to give us day to day updates.

Just got back from the game, I only saw 1 colorado fan at the game outside of the band and the parents section next to the game. The entire stadium was orange and the game was over once they announced the teams onto the field. Reggie Bush should win the Heisman, and Vince Young should come back next season :lol:. Texas v USC will be the most anticipated game in a very long time. Vince Young gets all the credit, but they have a ton of weapons people don't talk about that are very similar to USC's all-around offense.

But its going to be great if the Yanks try to have Farns retaliate in someway against the Red Sox. I really want to see this happen, almost more than wanting to see a Glenallen Hill collision at home.

I'm excited about the Big 12 Championship but for another reason, not Colorado. Plus I will be at the game in Houston. Hopefully Vince Young will put on a show for his homecoming.

We're the Cubs not the Royals. A budget is a budget. What do you have a degree in? (if you don't mind my asking) the main problem is everyone assumes we know what the budget is and how much we have to spend. We also assume we have a very strict budget. Has anyone seen the tribune say over the past couple of years we can only spend "X" much, or we must cut payroll to get below budget. If one or two million is standing between us getting a key player and us not getting him why are we that concerned. This is not going to prevent us from being able to make a big move.

I still think San Antonio would be a good place for a baseball team. The Saints have had a very good showing so far there and the Spurs are maybe the best runned organization in all of sports (I realize very different owners). Given the very large Latin and Hispanic market in the region I don't see why they couldn't fill 35,000 on a regular basis. The city want more professional sports involved, and I think would be more than willing to participate.

Is this the reason that they are adding another BCS game next year. The fact that a team has to be in the top 12, but they only pick 8 teams means someone will always be screwed. Whats the point of having a BCS system (yet another reason)if we are going to override the rankings in favor of politics to put ND in a BCS bowl and leave out either either O$U or VT. Both will finish the season ahead of ND in the BCS, have the same record or better in both cases but yet we leave it up to a board committee that will ignore the poll. I'm not saying ND is less deserving than either school, but with the amount of money that is thrown around someone is going to get screwed. they need to eliminate at-large bids all together or use the poll they created to decide exactly who goes. After all they use it to decide who goes to the NC.

If the Cubs, Cads, Astros, Yankees, or Red Sox can sign BJ Ryan I think that team jumps to the favorite in the division. A 2 headed monster of Ryan + the Closer would be huge come playoff time. I would love to see Hendry add Ryan even at the cost of having an expensive 8th and 9th inning.

66-14 now. Texas v USC will be a very fun game to watch. Funny how several kU fans actually thought theyd be able to compete with Texas for a little while. Looks like Texas is just flexing its muscles now. I don't think we were totally delusional. Hate KU all you want, we've got a very good defense, and we played them very well last year. Texas is, apparently, a much better team this year than last, and KU is a much differnt team on the road than at home. not that this would be close in Lawrence, either. No I'm not saying you specifically. On Tigerboard, there were several predictions by jayhawk fans that it would be lik 35-10 and such. Yeah, kU does have good defense against teams like Mizzou and Nebraska. I did not know what the score of the Mizzou game against the horns would be, but I did give us no chance, especially after our loss to New Mexico at home (yeah we are kinda [expletive]). However, personally, Texas is easily the best team I've seen in my two years at Mizzou. They are just bigger, faster, stronger, and better than any team they've played this year. I personally look forward to Texas vs. USC in the national championship. As a team yesterday, Texas played their best game of the season (offense, defense, and ST). The first half was a perfect example of how many weapons they have, and I do think they have more than USC. This team is going to be very similar ot USC last season. They will get better on offense next season losing 2 o-lineman and a tight end. Every skill player is coming back. The defense is going to take a nice hit to the NFL and graduation, but they have several high redshirt freshman and the #1 recruiting class coming in next year as well.

well what about Kansas who doesn't play a road game. Well I guess they are in the maui invitational, but come on Billf try to get the freshman ready for roadtrips into OU and OSU. Self Doesn't make the schedule, the AD does. Regardless of where our games are played, we have a pretty tough schedule. In Maui, we'll play #9 Arizona, then #2 UCONN or Arkansas (probably Arkansas). Our noncon also includes St. Joe's in NY, Cal in KC, and #25 Nevada and #10 Kentucky in Lawrence. Keep in mind, our the avg. age of our players is about 12. Anyway, I wouldn't expect to see KU take too many non-con road trips in the near future, unless it's against a premier team. Our AD is really money focused, and there's too much money to be lost playing mediocre teams on the road. Kind of lame, but I guess that's the way things are now. Texas gets #1 Duke in NYC, #12 Memphis in Memphis and #4 Villanova in Austin. Should be a good test for a younger team.

KU should have beaten them last year. We got jobbed by the officials. We also have the 5th best defense in the country, and they have the potential to keep us in games. That said, the opening line was 35 points. I expect KU to keep it closer than that. So do I, but Texas might finally be 100% healthy on offense for the first time in a while. Its going to be interesting to see how they play the 4 head backfield of Vince Young, Selvin Young, Jammal Charles, and Ramonce Taylor. Taylor will probably slot out to WR, but we saw last week why he needs to touch the ball 10+ time a game. Texas wins 38-10 almost my exact prediction. When I said they'll keep it closer than 35, I didn't say how much closer. Texas leads 52-41 at halftime. Problem is this is Texas points vs. Kansas total yards. I never thought Texas would be up 52-0 at half time, I did have some respect for Kansas defense before today, but Texas is playing a there peak right now.

depends on how you look at it. if Dunn doesn't walk in the 4th spot, he is a bad middle of the order hitter. Ignoring walks he is basicly a .245 hitter with runners on base. I don't want to rely on my cleanup hitter to walk to get a better run producer up to bat in the #5 spot. Dunn needs to be used more for his OBP than his power. His power also overrates his productivity as a run producer. He drives in very few runs not off of a HR. Its all or nothing a lot of times with him.
