  1. I like it! Did they confirm bleacher ticket sales? I wonder what the projected beer sales are for this game ;-).
  2. Yeah, that was unexpected. I would assume his 5 wins over the last 2 years would take him out of serious consideration. I don't think he a bad coach, and losing him now would be bad for the program, but in retrospect I wish the Brian Kelly to ISU reports were true. He's a great D-Coach, though I am not sure about head coach. Though turning Iowa State into a contender is hard even if in the Big 12 North.
  3. No Columbus or New England? I would not even want to go to that game if it was in Dallas, I would be outnumbered 5:1.
  4. I hate to get back onto this topic, but it kind of pisses me off that this BCS nonsense has overshadowed a really good season by Texas. I didn't expect this going into the season, and I had them pegged for 3 losses. The secondary was really young, Colt had a sophomore slump, no standout runner and a few other things. I'm sure none of you care, but I used most of my posts here so far to complain about the BCS and I thought it appropriate to give kudos to my alma mater for a much better season than I expected. It was a fun year. Your not alone. Though expectations next year will be pretty high. Yeah, we're only losing Orakpo and Dockery (Cosby?). That secondary will be a year older, Malcom Williams is starting to get some PT. I would have liked to have seen a RB step up. I'm not all that impressed with Whittaker, but I do like McGee a bit. Next year and Gilbert's junior year should be good ones. I see you live in Lewisville. Do you listen to the Ticket? Malcom Williams has the potential to be a beast. Yeah Orakpo, Roy Miller, and Aaron Lewis will be big losses to the front line but they have guys to step in already. Garrett Gilbert should be awesome. Are they going to redshirt Gilbert? It would make sense. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't. Even if McCoy was injured they can always play Chiles at QB. They still need to find a bigger role for him next season as well. I'd like to see Colt and Chiles in the backfield at the same time a few plays per game next season. Also, in case you didn't already know, Muschamp has shot down the Auburn rumors. I didn't see that, that is awesome.

  8. I would not want him for 3 years.
  9. http://auburn.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=109&tid=118890485&mid=118890485&sid=884&style=2 Son of a .... :banghead:
  10. If Pie doesn't help net us Peavy or another superstar type player, then I don't want to trade him. You are basically selling way to low, and better off holding on to him and seeing what he can do. He is still very young.
  11. I haven't heard any other actual players for Derosa, only that teams are interested in him.
  12. http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/hot_stove/posts/31661-agent-peavy-frustrated-with-padres WOW. That tells me Jake really wants to be a Cub. He could force Towers hand here. I like it. When you have a guy making that much, who has essentially made it clear that hes miserable on the team, you really need to get a deal of some kind done. I really dont see him on the Badres come spring training. This kind of proves Hendry's point about giving up too much and the growing demand for more players at the Padres request. Hendry was right to pass for now. Towers is going to have to do a lot of work to rebuild his relationship with Peavy or lower his demands and give him what he wants.
  13. We would have Peavy, but if we have any injury problems during the season and needed to make a trade during the break we would have nothing left. I do wish the trade was done, but I understand it was become excessive. If this trade happens 1-2 months from now for less, then all of this was worth it.
  14. sometimes yes. but not for the World Cup, Copa America, ect.
  15. Peavy has Towers by the sac, not Towers by Hendry's sac. If we wait 2 months and give up less, while in the process signing/trading for a quality LF is that really a bad thing.
  16. thank you for your insight. I'm glad we have an insider here to finally divulge the exact nature of the negotiations. you, my friend, have made it to big time. kudos! I like how this means no trade will happen between now and ST. Towers wanted 6-7 players for Peavy, hell Santana brought in half of that. People are going to bitch about giving up too much, and the others are going to bitch about not getting him. Either way its funny to watch all the Fantasy GM's make there assumptions.
  17. I don't want Marmol pitching more than he already has too.
  18. i seriously don't know what's going on Maybe this will help everyone to smile (NSFW, or under 18. That means you Skyballer and Ski) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEn1Y8Wet_M
  19. He's not, just the three listed above.
  20. Well since we are down to three I felt this deserved it own thread. I really thought we deserved 5 finalists this year, but I guess the ballots are not going to be as spread out this year as thought 4 weeks ago. We are down to McCoy, Bradford, and Tebow in what could be the closest final in recent memory. Personally I am thinking McCoy Bradford Tebow http://graphics.fansonly.com/testing/heisman/images/logo_trophy.jpg
  21. lol wut? Well DeRosa has hit like .650 against the Reds the last 2 years, I can see why they like him. 2007 - .510/.567/.667 2008 - .238/.385/.500 Derosa for Delmon Young
  22. http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270335/12196843 Sounds like Towers is calling Hendry out. Seriously, I refuse to belive that this deal would be blocked over a matter of 5 million dollars. Towers changes his story depending on who he is talking to... First it was... Hendry has to clear it with ownership Now it is ......Hendry doesn't need to clear it with ownership. did it occur to you that at first towers didn't know hendry had clearance...but as talks progressed he was told by hendry that he has the go ahead? I don't remember where the article was, but it hinted at Hendry being able to make moves, and if he had to trim payroll it would just need to be done by the start of the season/spring training.
  23. Sports Center live just reported the Cubs are not close to getting Peavy, but named no sources that I heard.
