  1. I agree with you Jeff, regarding Duncan. I think Beckett has the best stuff in baseball, though.
  2. I think FSU will beat the Nits soundly.

  4. Id' be shocked if they didn't get Furcal. The backlash will be fun when this is done. But Neifi's a fine backup, he can play 3 IF positions and is a terrific defender. People always moan that these guys are a dime a dozen, but if I have no problem giving more money to Neifi, when dime-a-dozen guys like Enrique Wilson, Rey Ordonez, Ramon Martinez, etc. do worse offensively, and much worse defensively. Rob Neyer's had a column recently discussing the Gold Gloves, and the Gold Glove winners at shortstop got some attention, where he disagreed with Derek Jeter and Omar Vizquel winning. Anyhow he went about ranking the NL GG contenders by three different sabermetric formulas - Win Shares, Ultimate Zone Rating, and Fielding Runs over Replacement. Here's how the NL shortstops stacked up: Win Shares: 1. Rafael Furcal 2. Neifi Perez 3. Jack Wilson Ultimate Zone: 1. Adam Everett 2. Neifi Perez 3. ???? 4. Rafael Furcal Fielding Runs: 1. Neifi Perez 2. Rafael Furcal 3. Jack Wilson
  5. 2-year deal...should break pretty soon. Solid backup, hopefully that's what he'll be.
  6. KU should have beaten them last year. We got jobbed by the officials. We also have the 5th best defense in the country, and they have the potential to keep us in games. That said, the opening line was 35 points. I expect KU to keep it closer than that. Yeah, I think there was bad PI called or one that should've been called. That 4th and 18 conversion by Vince Young was silly, though. He's unbelievable. I think Texas wins in a rout, but I'm a big Mangino fan. Wish he was still at OU.
  7. You should probably switch Arizona St. @ (14) UCLA with Kansas @ (2) Texas
  8. Which teams are available?
  9. I wouldn't be averse to acquiring Pierre to replace Corey/Hairston (depending on the cost of course). I'd rather make a deal for Milton Bradley, though. Giles $30/3 Furcal $36/4 Williams and Patterson to L.A. for Bradley Furcal Walker Giles Lee Ramirez Bradley Murton Barrett
  10. Sixteen players on the team right now for approximately $68 MM Position Players * Matt Murton LF * Aramis Ramirez 3B * Todd Walker 2B * Derrek Lee 1B * Michael Barrett C * Ronny Cedeno IF * Henry Blanco C Pitchers * Kerry Wood SP? * Greg Maddux SP * Carlos Zambrano SP * Mark Prior SP * Glendon Rusch SP? * Will Ohman RP * Michael Wuertz RP * Scott Williamson RP * Ryan Dempster CL Let's assume a payroll of $100 MM Fill out the team with the remaining $32 MM
  11. I love you, sir ! http://cards.webshots.com/resources2/6/7236.gif
  12. UNC vs BC is not a mismatch. Bunting will have his kids ready.
  13. He has been injured all year long, unfortunately. Should be back for Indiana, though.
  14. Then you'll see it.
  15. The WR who recovered Harrison's fumble was clearly out of bounds and the first player to touch that ball when it was loose. Derwood, you're right, except I believe UM got 12 extra yards on every spot, not 2. 12.
  16. I thought they missed a late hit on Henne too, and an face mask from Kadela on Steve Breaston.
  17. Bumping is legal within the 5 yards so it wasn't PI on Battle, but holding is not legal at any time, and Battle pretty clearly held onto Avant . Sutton had 2 big runs, but was otherwise nullified. Michigan completely shut down the screen game. I thought Roberson was much more effective on the read play out of shot-gun, but it's hard to take Sutton out I suppose. I thought Dylan Thiry and Strief did okay, but Branch and Watson dominated the interior.
  18. Yeah, it was meant as a joke. Considering you brought it to the social forum at northsidebaseball (and actually stated they blackballed you), I didn't think it was all that sensitive. Apparently it was, so I retract the statement, and I apologize.
  19. I thought Roberson should've gotten more snaps, he looked much more effective than Ty Sutton. Big, big mistake putting a redshirt freshman converted defensive lineman on Gabe Watson. Joel Belding had no chance, last night.
  20. I guess M club missed payments for the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame games? Love the generalities, keep at it. I'm glad you were there, I'm sure you had a monitor with you tracking replays after every down. No complaints about the officiating when they missed calls that would have benefitted UM (i.e. illegal touching after Harrison fumbled the Basanez pick that would've given UM the ball deep inside NU's territory)? I guess that's psu objectivity. Quickly, now. Is this holding? http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/883/F128096.jpg
  21. Uh, when was NU called for pass interference? There wasn't a single time. "Michigan got a lot of good spots." Really? I can think of one, the Breaston dive where Franklin said he stepped out of bounds at the 12 (the ball, of course, was inside the 11); what other good spots was UM given? Refs missed one defensive PI call on Michigan, where Mason jumped Philmore, I believe. That was a bad no-call. Of course, they didn't flag Deante Battle for mugging Jason Avant on 3rd and goal in the prior series. UM had to settle for a FG when it should've been 1st and goal at the 2.
  22.
  23. He was diving for a first down, it was closer to the 10 than the 11.
  24. It's where the ball is, not his foot as it touches OB. Franklin should know better.
