  1. Bruce, do you think the Cubs will go after Zito this off-season? And also, who do you see Hendry going after for the bench role? I would like to see Hendry add some more versatility to their bench this off-season.
  2. The only thing I liked about what he said last night, was he is a Hulk Hogan fan!!! http://top2bottom.net/Hulk%20Hogan.jpg
  3. Why? Geoff Blum is a valuable Left-handed hitter off the bench. He can pretty much play anywhere on the field. He has some power in his bat, and he puts the bat on the ball. I love his versatility. Those things also describe Jose Macias. Blum has been terrible offensively for quite some time. But he's a Cub Killer!!! .348/.375/.609 Sign him up!!!!
  4. Weaver pitched a pretty good outing against the Padres the other night. Weaver still has value in his right arm. He would be a gamble, but a gamble I would be willing to take.

  6. Is Geoff Blum a FA? I wouldnt mind the Cubs adding him to their roster.
  7. So the Cubs are going to be paying for a guy they dont even have? Horrible idea. Unretired already? 8-) lol, the fall baseball season ended Sunday. I will be starting my off-season workouts November 1st. So for now, I will be posting away.

  9. Good team baseball by the Tigers in this inning.
  10. NO!!!!!!!!!! Pavano is a huge disaster. I remember hearing about Pavano getting injured before he even stepped on the mound for his start in the minors. Its so shocking Cory Lidle died in the plane crash today. He was a guy I would of loved to see the cubs sign as their 5th starter. If taking back Pavano is the cost of getting ARod, I wouldn't hesitate. If Pavano gets healthy he's a fine 5th starter. I dont like that deal. Who is taking on Pavano's and A Rod's contracts? I dont think the Yankees would be taking on both of them. Im not a fan of Pavano. He is under .500 for his career, and his only good year was in 2004. Hitters love hitting against him too. There are better options out there.

  12. Anger Management. Let me guess, you probably would beat your wife/husband if you had one? There are somethings you just keep to yourself. No need for you negative posts. Let's keep this on the topic please. This type of post in completely uncalled for. You say my post is completely uncalled for. Have you been seeing what that Rob guy is saying?
  13. Anger Management. Let me guess, you probably would beat your wife/husband if you had one? There are somethings you just keep to yourself. No need for you negative posts. ??? It deals with his anger problems. Start backing up your opinions with fact, and less might get angry. Here is a fact: Sac bunts work. If they didnt, they wouldnt be used in baseball. Here's a fact: Iraq had WMDs. If they didn't, we wouldn't have gone in there. Here's a fact: Smoking pot is a smart decision. If it wasn't, people wouldn't do it. Here's a real fact: Saying that just because people do it, it's smart... isn't. Edit: Wait a second... you nearly had me fooled. Everybody, I'd like you to meet Dusty Baker. Dusty Baker?

  17. Agreed. Thom Brennaman and Steve Stone would make a great combination in the broadcast booth.
  18. 2005 Whitesox. Worked out pretty well for them . The '05 White Sox were a below average offense. Okay, now I'm done, I mean it. Hopefully you're done. Because everything you just said is not even close to being true. Outside of his fact? Small ball works. Worked for the 05 Whitesox, and it works throughout baseball.

Because everything you just said is not even close to being true. Oh cripes, look it up for yourself. Link 9th in the AL, and middle of the pack in MLB with the benefit of the DH. I thought you were done? Btw, the Whitesox had the best offense in MLB this year, and where did that get them?

  21. Why? Are you kidding me? He managed a team with a $14 million dollar payroll, and had them in contention for the wild card untill the last 2 weeks in the season. Everyone predicted the marlins to lose over 100 games this year. The team didn't have a winning season, had some of the best young talent in baseball and he was responsible for sending one of their best young pitchers out after a long rain delay. The pitcher then had a season ending arm injury in the same game. He is infatuated with the sac bunt, made poor personnel decisions at the begining of the year and was told to make changes. I don't see any reason why the cubs better pick him. The Marlins were the first team in major league baseball history to be 20 games under .500, and later whould go on to be over .500 in the same seaon. Girardi is a leader. BTW, sac bunts are part of the game. Its called team baseball. Who's to say the 20-games-under team wasn't caused by Girardi as opposed to the team that caught fire?* * - I'm a proponent of Girardi as manager, just asking the tough questions. Sac bunts are stupid baseball probably 90+ percent of the time they're made. 2005 Whitesox. Worked out pretty well for them .
