  1. Soriano had it in his mind, I'm going to prove there is nothing wrong with my leg. Thinking went out the window.
  2. I always say confidence can be backed up, cockiness gets beat up.
  3. I think we are really lucky it's only 5-4
  4. I honestly think if he would have ran instead of slid he would have made it. He seemed to make a complete stop the moment he slid.
  5. I've gone every year for the last 5 years and it's always something I look forward to. I'm going to the Thursday, Friday, Saturday games of that series.
  6. If you take the fact that he is Jim Edmonds away and just look at this move as getting a player that is a multiple gold glover and was a very good hitter. Who may get it back even if it's only for a year. Couple that with you get the guy for the league minimum. This is a good move. But this is JIM FREAKING EDMONDS. Let me pick up my torch and pitch fork again.
  7. No, he was good at Wrigley because he was an other-worldly baseball player for a 6 year stretch from 2000-2005; consequently, those were the years he played in the National League Central against the Cubs. So facing the Cubs "pitching staff" (and I use that term loosely) had nothing to do with it? Really? I agree he had good number those years, but facing the Cubs staff had a lot to do with those numbers at Wrigley. Daniel Garaby strikes fear into the hearts of no one. the cubs have had a good pitching staff since 2003. edmonds was an amazing player, that's why he hit well at wrigley. it's not complicated. Agreed, when Edmonds was with St. Louis he hit everyone well.
  8. Where has anybody in this thread welcomed him with open arms? Some people are waving their torches and pitchforks; some are looking for a silver lining. I haven't seen anybody saying "this is awesome!" Well I guess I'm carrying my torch and pitchfork.
  9. I didn't read the entire thread but I don't get how some of you can accept this guy with open arms. I hated this guy for years. With his dive to get gold gloves and his constant crying. It's not like he is even close to the prime of his career. Please don't let this happen. There are certain players that should never be a Cub and he is one of them.
  10. That was enjoyable.
  11. Thank you D Ward. I thought it was going to be a GS.
  12. Soriano or Ward they weren't going to let anyone hit.
  13. Man we are getting lucky this 1/2 inning. I like it.
