  1. Probably had something to do with the fact the team has 23 years of history and the former Baltimore Colts will not associate with this team. How about the Edge? There are still Indy guys out there that they could get to at least show some kind of Indy point of view. A current player for another team? Why not interview Roosevelt Colvin? The Bears have ex-players coaches who are constantly on the radar of the media, whether the Bears are good or bad. The Colts, at least the Indy version, don't. This isn't a case of two politicians fighting for equal time.
  2. Well, Shula is on now. I've heard that most ex-Baltimore Colts hate the Indy folks. And I don't think there are any ex-Indy Colts worth talking about. Although Jim Harbaugh should be there somewhere. Yeah but do you notice he just talks about being a Miami coach? Perhaps because he has very little pride in his association with the current version of the Colts?

  4. That can't be true. The Bears are a one dimensional running team stuck in the 1950's that can't score.
  5. It's not a matter of carrying over. I'm a Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan. Moved away a long time ago but won't ever be able to change any of that.
  6. What a tough way to live. It's funny that Wojo breaks off from his 2-3 month non-stop Bear bashing with a "nice" article about the Bears. Doesn't look like he got any quotes from the Bears though.
  7. NO!! Can't be true! You totally photoshpped that, admit it! The big brunette on CSN claims the jinx is not in play since this issue is actually dated February 5. I got a good chuckle out of that.
  8. What? Being a writer on ESPN requires growing up rich? most people who get jobs that there is a very competitive market for are pretty likely to have well off families with connections......obviously Obviously you don't know what you're talking about. You think Bill Simmons got his job based on family connections? Think that's how Scoop Jackson got his? What about Hunter S. Thompson? dude you really need to find something to do besides try to argue in online forums. I mean who honestly cares about this? I am going to guess all of them had some type of connection that got them the job I get annoyed when I hear asinine statements based on propoganda and cliche.

  11. So if Dallas Clark goes in the slot, who would be assigned to cover him? Well, this isn't backyard (you got that guy I got that guy) football, that could change on any given play. It could be a lineback, it could be a dback, or it could be nobody if they are in zone.
  12. The Bears do rotate their DTackles, but my guess is they'll just do so a little less frequently. If Indy is in 3 wide, they'll be in nickel, if a RB lines up wide, they won't hesitate letting a LB cover him.
  13. Is this your first superbowl? Um, no. We showed up 1 day earlier than the Colts. 1 day wasted, IMO. They practiced yesterday. You can't practice or study 24/7. Everybody has to do the media thing. What your hoping for is a surefire way to lose the game with paralysis due to overanalysis.
  14. Yes, it is quite different. CBS is an over the air broadcast channel available to everybody. Directv is not.
  15. i was thinking this exact thing. but lovie isn't available and the bears would have to give permission to jones to talk with smith. that ain't happenin'. the mccaskey family would burn halas hall to the ground before they'd see jones talk to the coach--and that's saying a lot because the mccaskey family is the cheapest in all of football. I don't think this is really true anymore. They have signed some high profile and expensive free agents recently. It's not even close to true.
  16. I think that's a laughable stance to take. That was not a championship caliber team, and Ted Washington was a fat slob who help the team in 2001 but did nothing because he couldn't stay healthy in 2002 when the team collapsed. He trade Ted in the preseason for a 4th round pick, which was used on Nathan Vasher I believe. The fact is the Bears wouldn't be where they are if Angelo didn't start cutting the fat when he did. To "never forgive him" and calling him a "low-down dirty piece of human garbage" is just plain ignorant if you're a Bears fan interested in the team having success.
  17. But EI does exist, and it's existed on cable for years. I really don't understand how you can't comprehend this. When Sunday Ticket started it was directv exclusive and it made sense that directv got to negotiate exclusive rights for the longterm. EI started with all sorts of outlets, and would be cutting back. Whenever you reduce consumer options that already exist, you are treading on dangerous waters. I have to agree with Derwood on this. It's not a monopoly. Are retail clothing stores not allowed to negotiated exclusive deals to sell merchandise, such as K-Mart's (former?) deal with Martha Stewart. It sucks, but that doesn't make it illegal. That's because there are several similar options for clothing elsewhere. The anti-trust exemption is being abused, and will be looked at by congress.

Whenever you reduce consumer options that already exist, you are treading on dangerous waters. What's EI? Extra Innings, the baseball package formerly offered to most every cable/satellite customer that wanted to pay extra for "every" game.

  20. Apparently plenty of people. Those arenas are reasonably full each weekend, from what I've been reading. Personally I've never gone to a game. Enough for the general public to care. Its never even shown on ESPN. I'm sure if they showed it here and there, It'd get popular. It is quite a success story for a small league. ESPN and AFL just announced a pretty sizable deal.
  21. this is 100% a subcontractor problem. I've had the DirecTV guys at my house 3 times, and only once did they not do the job (due to not having a tall enough ladder....they did not return again). It is definitely not just a subcontractor problem. It's a directv/directech problem. Directv is setting up installation dates that they can't handle. It's not a matter of a guy showing up with the wrong stuff, it's a matter of directv trying to sell more hardware than they actually have, and putting a greater emphasis on getting new customers over keeping existing customers. I estimated I've spent about $20,000 on their service over the years, and they've given me all sorts of garbage about being an A-list customer. I've been given all sorts of rebates and crap in the past few months, but they aren't getting the job done.
  22. So, I cancelled my directv. Their incompetence just became too much to bare. 8 times now I have had my appointment to upgrade from regular dish/box to the HD/DVR combo, and all 8 times they cancelled at the last minute due to a lack of hardware. They had me over a barrel until the end the football season, but they came back with an offer for all sorts of freebies if I set-up another install date. Sure enough, this past Friday evening, I got a call saying my Saturday appointment had to be rescheduled. I know they routinely go to customers who leave with a big offer to return, I'll consider it since I like the product. But I'm officially done for now with Directv's incompetent customer service.
  23. The thing that sucks for me is I don't care about the Bulls. The last team I cared about that was one win away from the championship was the Bears. The Blackhawks were the last to play for a championship, but they never got within one win, they were swept.
  24. The problem is he doesn't have any accomplishments. Yup. 2003 was crap. So was 2004. He accomplished to construct an 88 and then an 89 win team, that in the end accomplished nothing more than one playoff series win. So, I guess that's what we have in the accomplishment category, one playoff series. 4 years, one series win. A sub .500 record. Yay for lowered expectations. So the A's didn't accomplish anything until recently? Right on. Well, they did a whole lot more than win 88 and 89 games at the best.
