  1. where do forign prospects report to in the minor league system after they sign usualy? Where do you think suarez will pitch this year, IF at all?
  2. Has anyone seen Drew Rundle the cubs 16th round pick who signed with the team already? I read an article that said he would report to Mesa, but have not seen him iin the box scores yet.........
  3. Dont think so, it was the guy he walked on the inside pitch..........
  4. his machinacs scare me, some potential for injury with the way he brings his arm back that far.........
  5. nice effort by the right fielder......... went over the wall!!!!!!!!
  6. with all the potential first round draft picks The cubs could have next year, and the way the farm teams and players have been playing I have to say that I am looking to the future at this point. I as well am in! I say: Trade Prior, Wood, Maddux, Walker, Dempster (we could get some GOOD spects for him) Pierre (or don't re-sign him, and get a draft pick), DFA Rusch, Bynum. Get guys like Guzman, Hill, Ryu, The Riot, Soto/Reyes, Pie(if pierre is traded) some valuable big league experience by playing them freequently. Here is our Auguest Lineup: Pie-CF Murton-LF Jones-RF Lee-1B The Roit-2B A-Ram-3B Ronny-SS Barret-C Rotation: Z, Hill, Marshall, Guzman, Marmol Pen- Closer- Aardsma (like him a lot as a closer) setup- Ryu (better as reliever), Ohmen, Howery, Eyre, Atlee (the minor league closer), Novoa(not sold on him though) what do you all think???
  7. I know its a long ways away, but NEXT year, if pawelek puts up impressive numbers THIS year, where will he pitch? Peoria, or Daytona? In the article I read Boise's Manager said he has the stuff, its just a matter of him repeating his delivery. so...... what do you all think?
  8. a very nice write-up. It is nice to get some info on the players before they start.I am very excited about this pawelek kid, cant wait to see what he can do. I especially like #20 on the list lol! and looking at the past minor league box scores, how many wins is it in a row for our minor league teams combined? atleast the system is doing well these days.....
  9. Did anyone else hear the reports that Bernard was throwing the ball 98-99 MPH. During spring training? He could be interesting to keep an eye on as well..... maby the next marmol?????
  10. looks to me like you are looking about a 2 year plan until those players are in the bigs. And even then some of them might not be first year players. So I would say you are atleast 5 years away from contending.
  11. Jon Danks would be interesting, but I would rather see the cubs get a posistion prospect for wood, we are pretty set on young arms right now.
  12. my understanding was that he got 500 thousand guarenteed, and the signing bonus was only if he decides not to play pro football. in other words, if he plays pro football, he does not get the 8 mil. If he does not play pro. ball then he gets the 8. mil.
  13. all right, count me in! also the mark pawelek BandWGN, that kid is my favorite. should be fun seeing him at Boise.
  14. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article_perspectives.jsp?ymd=20060607&content_id=1494338&vkey=perspectives&fext=.jsp I enjoied it, thought I would share.
  15. cuubs4life, there are 10 minute breaks between rounds so we've got about 3-4 minutes left until round 5 starts. cool thanks!
  16. how long of a pause is it in between rounds? it seems like it is taking quite a while.
  17. and now the moment we have all been waiting for............ the cubs take................ tyler clovin!
  18. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/draft/features/261627.html who the heck is this king kid? who ever he is, I hope the name does not end up to be a scare for the cubs :o
  19. I have been following you all do this sence it started. And in my opinion if Drabeck (sp) or bard are avaiable at this pick I do not see how the cubs can pass on eather of them.
  20. In my opinion these two draft years were very, very bad. looking at 2001 there is no one even noticiable except for prior and soto. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/history/draft/draft.jsp?year=2001&type=chc 2002 was even worse! Just look at those 4 first round picks for a second please! are you kidding me! this draft could very possibly be the worst draft ever. atleast we got hill in it, but besides that all very negative. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/history/draft/draft.jsp?year=2002&type=chc hopefully we can look back at this years draft a few years from now and be happy with it, becuase the past years drafts for the cubs have just flat out stunk!
