  1. I hate Todd Haley and Matt Cassel so much
  2. The Jets defense is really really good? Their offense is as bad as their defense is good. LT is at over 5 yards a carry right now. They don't have Santonio Holmes. Its Week 1. They are playing Baltimore. LT broke one run for 21 yards. Other than that he's at 6-15. There is no way they can run as effectively as last year and Sanchez cannot throw the football. They went 9-7 last year and didn't make a single upgrade.

  4. Why in the hell were there people saying that the Jets would be good?
  5. Flacco just got lit the [expletive] up
  6. Nothing says football like Dave Matthews band on NFL Network
  7. Tebow won one, so why not?
  8. The back up QB behind Favre doesn't matter much. They'll probably need to worry about the QB next year but I'm sure they could find someone better then Sage or Jackson anyways. As much as it is said every year. Actually the back up for Favre could matter this year. I don't like to root for injuries but I kind of hope so. Leinart was released as well.
  9. Illinois is going to be awful this year. Mizzou played like trash today.
  10. Absolutely. He was doing nothing more than showing them up. You can't be serious. He's stolen 4 bases in his entire career when the margin was greater than 4 runs. 2 of them came that inning. He knew exactly what he was doing and knew he was probably going to get thrown at again. he's played his entire career on pittsburgh and washington. this was only like the 5th time in his entire career he was even in a game that his team was leading by that much. His team was losing, and he's played in 110 games where the margin was greater than 4 runs. Considering that he's only played for Washington and Pittsburgh, it's safe to say that he's been on the losing end of those games more often than not. And half of his steals in those situations came in this one game. I understand arguing that the unwritten rule is stupid or whatever, but Morgan knew what he was doing and knew what the repercussions would be. And based on his behavior the last few weeks, he got the fight he's been looking for.

  12. Absolutely. He was doing nothing more than showing them up.
  13. Which is exactly why he got plunked again. If he takes his medicine and stands on first like he would in any other blowout situation, this doesn't happen.
  14. Wainwright, Carpenter, Garcia
  15. Fredi Gonzalez is going to be managing the Braves next year. He really shouldn't even be in the discussion.
  16. Morgan was plunked as retaliation for what he did to the catcher the previous night. Then Morgan retaliated by stealing those bases, so they threw at him again. It wasn't just for stealing the bases, it was for why he stole the bases.
  17. Here's another quick example of the TLR fingerprint. The Cardinals are currently 4 games out of the wildcard and Jeff Suppan is starting today's game for no reason. To make matters worse, he strikes out 3.9/9 and his middle infield defense for the day is Aaron Miles at SS and Skip Schumaker at 2b. Miles is a career -18.2/150 UZR guy and Schumaker is -11.6/150.
  18. The bums are getting way too much PT. And getting those PA at the top of the lineup too often. Wasn't it more of a management decision to go with a stars and scrubs approach to the team? Am I just missing the better options residing on the bench to whom LaRussa isn't giving playing time? Stars and scrubs is fine. It's the stars and sub replacement level but entrenched in the lineup scrubs that is terrible. Giving Schumaker 500+ PA even though he's a terrible hitter and one of the worst 3 defensive 2b in the game. Letting a guy like Stavinoha hang around on the bench forever because he had a dozen nice at bats the first month of the season, even though he doesn't do anything well. Sending down Craig when you face back to back LHP and are 5 games out so you can activate Motte from the DL, while keeping Mike MacDougal and his 2.3+ WHIP, 8.75 ERA and 7+ BB/9 in the bullpen. Giving Randy Winn starts against LHP when he has a sub .400 OPS against them each of the last 2 seasons. Starting Yadier Molina in something absurd like 44 of 45 straight games, then starting your backup catcher who bats LH against a lefty on the day you decide to let Molina sit. Letting one of your LOOGY's sit on the bench with elbow trouble and be used once in 3 weeks before finally putting him on the DL. Letting injured players (Ludwick/Rasmus) sit on the bench forever (a week plus) before putting them on the DL or just letting them sit on the DL without playing so long that you could have just put them on the DL and then activated them before they started a game. Penciling Rasmus in two days ago to start, then scratching him 5 minutes before game time because he thought it was a poor umpiring matchup. I could keep going, and that's just roster decisions off the top of my head. The thing about the Cardinals is that LaRussa runs the roster, not the GM. The GM probably deserves some of the blame, but LaRussa has acted absolutely senile this season.

  20. The team is Tony LaRussa at his finest.
  21. great answer by TT, but there's no way a triple crown winner isn't getting the MVP when it's been so long since there's been one. I had no idea Pujols was only 4 points behind Votto for the NL lead in BA. It would be cool for someone to win the Triple Crown. I'll root for Albert, but not the Cardinals. Pujols went 3-5 tonight. So, as of right now, Pujols is tied in BA (.322) and leading in HR (33) and RBI (92).
  22. Or as terrible from year to year.
  23. why not just call it an "M" I didn't make up the term. Glad you're able to add to the discussion, though. owned
  24. my initial notice was that he was physical appearance black
  25. Well then.. Drop Cruz - Add Teixeira
