  1. Because our coach got one. I see what you did there you clever little rascal you. Don't you have you own game threads to post in? Yes

  3. you're going to get a lot of good pitches to hit when you've got ryan ludwick hitting behind you. Ludwick's gonna bump that OPS north of 1.200 with a hit in his next at bat. why shouldn't a career minor leaguer turn into ted williams when he puts on the uni with the birds on the bat? And there's an RBI double by Ludwick. 7-2 Cards and Ludwick is 3-3. A triple away from the cycle.
  4. I'm sorry, I still can't get over how hard and far Albert hit that ball. It really was just starting it's descent.
  5. Albert Pujols just hit one onto the 3rd deck in San Diego. Absolutely hammered!
  6. He's gotta be DL'd after the game. It's time to call up Chris Perez.
  7. In case you wree wondering, Izzy just gave up a 3 run HR to Bay. 8-5 Pirates. 1 out.
  8. I hear Stan Musial's available. Maybe the most underrated player in baseball history. Had he played in New York or Boston he'd be a deity like Mantle or Williams. 1815 hits at home...1815 hits away. 3 MVP awards and 4 second place finishes. Dude had some serious game. His 1948 season is flat out sick.
  9. I know you want to poke fun, but would anyone be complaining if he had the opportunity to show off a half shirt the same way he did last time?
  10. I wasn't sure what to think about this guy because he only had one good year in the minors, but wow. Good job Cubs. Has there been any sort of physical connection attributed to his success? Add weight, drop weight, or was it just one of those things where he just clicked and started raking?
  11. That wasn't anything positive about Edmonds on the Cubs.
  12. If he does well, my Cardinals are paying him 8 times more this year than your Cubs are.
  13. I'll tell, as a Cards fan I hate seeing him as a Cub. But as a Jim Edmonds fan, it is a really good situation for him. Gets him out of PetCo and into a more neutral park. As much as you guys like Pie, for good reason, I really think that Edmonds will be a productive player if he is indeed platooned.
  14. The Rays are without a doubt, the most talented (not saying they are the best team, but based on pure talent) team in the AL East. It wouldn't surprise me, if they make the playoffs---at the expense of the Yanks and/or the Red Sox  :beg: ---within the next yr or so. God I hope so.
  15. No, he was good at Wrigley because he was an other-worldly baseball player for a 6 year stretch from 2000-2005; consequently, those were the years he played in the National League Central against the Cubs. So facing the Cubs "pitching staff" (and I use that term loosely) had nothing to do with it? Really? I agree he had good number those years, but facing the Cubs staff had a lot to do with those numbers at Wrigley. Daniel Garaby strikes fear into the hearts of no one. I think he was saying that facing the Cubs pitching staff didn't have much to do with it. Against all of baseball from 2000-2006 Edmonds averaged a 147 OPS+. He was just really damn good.
  16. How's the weather up on your high horse? It's nice. A little humid, but nice.
  17. your signature just lied to me. Jim Edmonds is teh gay baseballer! Did that make up for it? At least you're not bitter. I just wonder if people are going to be saying the same things they have said for years if Edmonds plays well for the Cubs. The chances that edmonds will play well are just about equal to the chances that Cubs fans will stop hating him and his "dive at anything in my vicinity" ways. I think you forgot to add "gay."

  20. Please, just promise that you will stake make gay jokes all the time no matter how well he does. Make sure to constantly talk about how much he likes playing with Wood, get it? It's funny, like when he played with Pujols. Also, any time he makes a good play, say it sucked because any other center fielder would have had it.
  21. I believe he added to it today. 2-4 with 2HR.
  22. KZone had them as strikes. this just in, k zone is wrong a lot Yeah, you probably had a better vantage point than the home plate umpire and ESPN's pitch tracker. They were borderline but they weren't crap calls.
